For motion tech engine oil, they use petronas based oil, the company basically from singapore, been use it twice for my camry acv30 2.0e, all i can say it's a good engine oil but not the best overall, if you're into budget engine oil for your car, go for motion tech or mizu
Never tried trimoly x before, tempted but not dare to take a risk, my advice avoid it
Sinced transplanted halfcut engine kosong for my camry acv30 2.0e last december 2025, i only use shell helix and also petronas nexta engine oil, as i realised quality engine oil does matter

I've been payin' premium on Johnsen's engine flush and oil from Shell as a regular, with yearly Seafoam once or twice, and regular Johnsen's Injector Cleaner...

I've thought of tryin' a different oil brand for my more-than-a-decade-year-old car to save up on costs... I asked here because you guys seem to know more than me when it comes to maintaining the engine for the long-haul...

Engine flush ill go for tan chong brand, basically it's a liqui moly.. For fuel injector cleaner ill go for revpro, but to safe a cost refuel caltex ron95 with techron, cuz techron basically do the same stuff if im not mistaken
For engine oil and gear oil, go for premium brand bro, bit expensive but in the long run, your engine and gearbox will long lasting
The reason my engine blown last year due to laz oil engine oil, use it 2 times then overheated, conrod knocked etc, my foreman told me change engine kosong instead of overhaul, my money fly just like that
Sinced that, just maintained it with shell or petronas engine oil, no more supercheap engine oil

Have you tried Seafoam to remove carbon deposits from your 20-years-old Camry acv30 2.0e engine?

I can't speak for anyone else, but from my own experience, the first time me and my mechanic tried, heavy black fogs were coming out from my engine as though a thorough wash was being done... We were cleaning practically every sh!t out and it felt good driving afterwards...

I didn't leave the car running... What I did was I shut the car off, and my mechanic sprayed the Seafoam can in steadily while I continued to flip the starter to kickstart the engine... The moment my car started, I revved the engine up in stationary position to clear it all out... We did this in an empty lot where heavy black smoke from the exhaust... Then grey, then suddenly, chalky white all came out...

Sinced transplanted engine kosong, didn't do carbon removal stuff as my foreman said no need but previous engine ive done every 40k mileage, they are using BG brand for it, when press the throttle, white smoke came out etc

But i believed if you service your engine oil on time, those carbon removal stuff only do it once a year, so premium engine oil will make sure your engine always clean all the time

I did this instead. Open MAF sensor, spray this juice. And next on upstream oxygen sensor, with this as well. The downstream O2 too lazy to open.

Well last night drove 90-100kmh cruising, giving 17km/l for 2.4 engine

Currently im on petronas nexta 10w40 4L semi synthetic on my camry acv30 2.0e, it was my first petronas engine oil thru out my life, previously with shell helix, motul, liqui moly, mizu, motion tech

All i can say after 3000km, it was fantastic engine oil, lighter smoother bought 2 bottles of 4L petronas nexta 10w40 semi synthetic from rocketman auto supplies thru shopee during previous sale, good bargain for quality engine oil

Last mth bought absorber Sacha fr gm6 but somehow got defect within 1 mth so had to return but can't risk another round to take out so just got it from my workshop.

Looking alternative addictive like Liqui moly ceratec...anything one can recommend? I saw proficar CERAMIC MOTOR TREATMENT seems not bad and just around my budget.

All you need is good engine oil for your car, avoid engine treatment

all petrols have some form of cleaning additive, i don't really observe any meaningful difference of different petrol brands sold here....

just purchase from any nearby petrol station that your credit card gives the highest cashback...nothing beats real cold hard cash...those minute additive difference that purportedly gives better performance/cleaning/fuel savings, doesn't seem to come close to offset the cashback return.

Best for b40/m40, go for maybank ikhwan petronas credit cards, 8% cashback on weekend petrol purchase, no minimum spend, no annual fees

understand that there are some card give close to 10%, but just check whether you meet the minimum monthly spend requirements

After sirim mizu also increased price dy, now rm90~rm130. For the price, better get bosch x7 from bosch mall, helix ultra from vr global or rocketman.
