QUOTE(Cavino @ Apr 29 2026, 02:04 PM) Ya, it is the verified and authorized source that you buy from that matters most, especially for car fluids. Ori bottles can be reused (a common scam tactics). So for engine oil or any ori parts, only buy from verified, authorized or reputable sources, no matter how ori the products looks on paper. Also don't trust those reviews too much. Many times not ori, also the reviews says ori. I only believe multiple reviews when they say it is not ORIGINAL. Then mostly likely not original. Those that says original, take that with a grain of salts first. If you cannot verify the seller reputation, authorization, then even if cheaper, skip. For engine oil, if not ori, the financial repercussion can be very huge with all the related collateral damage involved. That is long term damage involved. Buying from Shopee Malls and Lazmall will have certain garantee that it is ori but it is definitely pricey. Then again, don't trust 100% unless the malls are truly verified authorized source of the products aka known authorized distributor or resellers or at least have well known trusted reputation. If it is too good to be true, 99%, it is too good to be true...hahaha. I don't believe those review, only dealing with 3 source mentioned before 😻💦

1 more thing, if the seller doesn't have actual store locations or at least verify full address plus telephone number, no need think buying.
To be able be authorized distributor especially big biz like motor oil but not dare to show the full details is too fishy
We need accountability if there is an issue with the product we buy

QUOTE(shyan90's @ Apr 29 2026, 05:55 PM) Definitely have to do some homework..hahaha Use reputable brand of engine oil, buy from trusted source, your engine will last long.. Previously tried cheap engine oil, use3 times then my engine overheated, cam and conrod already k.o, end up need to change to engine kosong and do all tear and wear stuff.. Sinced that only use either shell or petronas engine oil with recommended sae grade 10w40, 5w40 also can use 🙂💦

I am using the expensive Mullerol 5W30 FS engine oil for all my old cars. 20 years old City, 17 years old Civic, 14 years old persona all use this oil to revive back their power. Almost gave up on the City and Persona few years ago, engine started to vibrate like shit, power loss. Did everything, decarbonise, change spark plugs, clean throttle body, etc except for overhaul. Nothing is spoil actually, just the engines seems like giving up...
Then as last resort, I change to this oil upon recommendation of my mechanic. Rm300-320. Expensive but then I say to myself if this don't help, I am going to dump both cars. The City first but then it gave these cars 2nd life. Just a single change of the oil, engine stop vibrating, acceleration become butter smooth. Truly 2nd life for engines I almost gave up as too old (high mileage as well). Never expect of all things, a single oil change can do that to a supposedly dying engine (although all parts that can be change seems to be working ok).
My old Idemitsu FS (been using for years without problem until those engine start to get weaken performance), when hitting 7K and above started to feel its performance weaken. The mullerol somehow get even smoother when it hit 8K, I don't feel like changing the oil but my conservative practice of 7-8K oil change or 6-8 months max makes me do it. Haha.
So I am a true believer of this FS. The distributor mentioned it as PAO. Nothing on the website indicated PAO tho, I don't find any english (the metal can is in german) say it is PAO. So I only half believe.
That is until recently when I found out the back label of the metal can stated "Vollsynthetisch" that means Fully Synthetic in English makes it a PAO. Why, becoz I just found out German Law stated that "Vollsynthetisch" are reserved for the Group IV PAO / Ester. High quality Group 3 cannot use that word. (Google AI, self satisfaction and convincing only, no hard fact, hahaha). It also listed vw, bmw, etc, wording that google listed was need to give extra verification it is PAO. PAO or not, this engine oil worked for my old Hondas and persona.
The distributor used to only deliver this to workshops, dont sell on internet although now it seems a few pop up. Not sure if its real but mullerol is not that well known here, at least nobody I talk to knows abou it.
For newer 7 years VIOS, it seems to makes not much difference tho. But the decade old cars, its a joy to drive them nowadays. RM300-320 or even more if price goes up is expensive but in view of 2nd life for these cars, it is worth it.
My long 2 cents only and own experience. Other might have different experience on it. I very ciong hei wan...sorry.

Just the engine oil im using shell or petronas semi 10w40 😎💦 Updated :Today 7 may 2026 managed to service my toyota camry acv30 2.0e, this time using Petronas Nexta semi 10w40 engine oil, it was my first time using Petronas engine oil, im impressed with it at the moment 😻👍💦 This post has been edited by GamersFamilia: May 7 2026, 04:41 PM

Not sure if this is off topic or not, but does anyone know Valin Auto's SHELL Shop Code? I need it to verify my Shell engine oil's authenticity, bought via their online shop on Lazada.
Or is there an easier/direct way to check it using the 12 digit code provided? Its made in Hong Kong.

Im nof sure on how to check those code but surely vanli auto definitely sell original stuff, and the shell helix you bought was an imported one, if shell malaysia there's untuk pasaran malaysia wrote infront of the bottle 😻👉💦

Tried this EO on X70 1.8T. Seem lighter compared b4, but again, any oil change will make this feeling. Plus did change the normal cheap Proton spark plugs to NGK Iridium plug, maybe felt much smoother at the start and light speed drive

The mystery is no misfire, fuel economy still can get 18km/l & the nickel tip still there only one side became blunt
