Is Millers Oils' CFS NT+ not popular in this forum?
*
It used to be popular, but reality is that there's barely any automotive left in Lowyat forums

Bikers forums may be even more active as the younger Lowyat forum users are sick and tired of traffic jams

My opinion - too overpriced too over hyped (from the older generation somemore)
And, I lack actual oil analysis data to really comment anything factual.

Maybe you can use and contribute? wub.gif

Hopefully Bermaz Malaysia can learn something for the ATF change requirements. The seal for life make many owner believe that and never change the atf, and some had GB issue when the mileage already above 100k km, Bermaz T&C warranty skip that due to mileage capped.

If read many CX5 owner who already hit 200k km, all did the ATF change

My car is at 92k km from 2015, started having low speed jerking recently.

Even long out of warranty, had to force the SC to replace ATF. First time I reported it, they did a gb relearn. It was better for few days, same symptoms resurfaced after.

Reported again on the next service, they assigned a technician to test drive with me, still wanted to deny the issue. He later experienced the jerking, but told me off record that they cannot suggest ATF replacement, it must be requested by customer. The quotation is RM6xx, require 2 working days.

Meaning have to force them to do it, somewhat frustrating to deal with them on older car that needs preventative maintenance. Waste time waste saliva sad.gif

There just absolutely no way, a lubricating fluid that needs to both serve as hydraulic pressure for the valve bodies, and friction interfacing for the clutch packs, with circulating worn clutch materials and wear metal materials, can last for over 40-60k km, or over 2-3 years, at most.

Double or triple that mileage and/or duration? You can see that equipment's "lifetime" flashing up real soon🙏

I agree, experienced it first hand on my last vehicle, very costly.

Just a bit funny that they insist that, even it’s not out of their pocket. Perhaps to tick some bureaucratic boxes in the office.

U know why, once u request the ATF change at the SC, they will ask customer to sign memo, invoices saying no more warranty related to the GB since making this ATF change. If that during 5/6 years warranty period

Hence plenty of owner send outside for atf change. It just a typical car gb, many workshop know how to perform the atf change without any trail left

There are fans. But cost wise is not for everybody.

I am really curious about XADO.

When do you plan to send your next oil analysis to Blackstone? I'll see if it aligns with my next oil change and we can split the cost, together with other interested parties perhaps.

i'll have shipments going out once every few months to slowest maybe every half a year?
yes (very expensive to USA) cost are shared amongst us senders.
they go for around RM292 these days with rubbish RedLy (PosLaju / Pos Malaysia spin off just for international shipping)
and i typically have between 4-5 samples, so 292/ 5 or 4 is between 58.5 - 73 per sample shipping cost.
so a sample is around RM73 + 30-50 USD to test (and cost is among the main factor deter most people from doing it)

regardless, sampled and sealed oils can be kept for over a year. i've actually gotten one sample kept for around, or over a year in storage because of covic19.
no further degradation observed from the sample with the tested TBN.

key thing is, you have your sample bottle ready before your oil change. please
PM for further details smile.gif

i got my mazda's aft changed at around 80k mark some years back, the colour and consistency is not something you would feel comfortable

just get it done at outside workshops, costs less than 600 (inclusive of fluid if you buy on your own), and only half a day....downtime now can be further shortened recently as there are aftermarket physical gasket being sold now....in the past, need at least half day downtime to let the RTV sealant cure (if you chose the pan drop and filter change option)

remember one thing, the term "lifetime" in automotive lingo is usually about 7-8 years...which is consistent with the time the new generation model launches
