I cannot answer for your application.

However for mine, I'm ok with temps going between 120 to 130 preferably below 140, and with an oil analysis to confirm/assure everything is ok.

So from my experience, 115 is nothing.
SHU is Shell top of the line, assuming genuine, I don't think they would break a sweat.

Now if you still want Petronas, you can go petrol station or reputable sellers that can prove their oils are genuine.
Get PLI/Mesra/PDB to issue letter/email confirmation etc if you would, I personally go through those lengths which didn't seem much considering I also do UOA.
*
Wah your car oil temp can reach over 120? Mine never even exceed 110 even on high boost runs in broad daylight but I've yet taken it to tracks.

apparently he is from Vanli. big group dealing with a lot of brand spareparts. i've gotten some parts from them before. seems to be okay so far.

they even have their own brand of oil called profi-car.

Thanks for the info. Other then Vanli, I've also bought from Hock Soon Guan Sdn. Bhd.(from shopee) which are a part of g8 group. Looks like they are authorized parts distributor for Toyota and some other companies. Their prices are competitive and usually slightly cheaper than Vanli.

I ran >10 hot laps for the Inspira
for 86 i pushed harder even though lesser hot laps, quality over quantity so to speak.

both cars on 0w20, higher flow, better heat transfer.
heat in oil, better than heat soaking in engine.

and the temps come down very fast within cooldown lap and within 5 minutes within pits.
by the time i enter pits my temps already in the low 120, and 5 mins time after pit stop its 100c already.

no issue on oil pressures, all within specs from service manual.
no issue on many UOA's

how's that for myth busting on many fronts? lol.
all UOA samples are also Motul 300v. (ya la fancy oil as some call it laugh.gif )

bit the bullet and bought Liqui Moly MOLYGEN 5w-30 from paul hew on shopee

will report back whether kena upcar or not  biggrin.gif

update: just took a short and slow drive back from the mechanic with the car (Myvi 1.5) running on the new oil.

initial impressions: can't tell a difference in terms of 'lightness' or responsiveness, but the engine does seem to be running quieter (near silent) and smoother (no vibrations) during idle in 'D' at the traffic light.

will report back after a longer (and faster) drive tomorrow.

Last time old car oil temp reached 130c, just middle mark only. Meter peak at 170c.

Go in R&R terus dropping to around 100c but can see water temp increases a bit (engine driven fan).
