Hi, I need engine oil recommendation for a 12 years old Naza Suria 1.1L, current mileage is 170k+ km. 5W30 or 10W40 semi synthetic?
5W30 - engine feel smooth but wonder would it not safe to protect engine?
10W40 - engine feel hard to accelerate

3 months only drive 2k-2.5k km.

Kindly advice. Thanks

No worries on 5W30, full syn will provide good protection. Naza Suria engine is not high tech, just a simple NA. 10W40 is more that adequate for your engine.

Since your monthly drive is very low, I'd go for mineral oil and change every 6 moths, if mineral is not prohibited by manufacture. It's bertter cost effective in your case & nothing like fresh oil for engine!

mineral oil enough? Need to check back user manual then.
Normally I use semi synthetic 5w30 but recently go a workshop which don't have 5w30 eo. so have to use 10w40. after that, very obvious the pickup very hard. Thanks for your reply.

Hi, currently driving Civic FD2 2009. Mileage 160k. Always been using Xw40 and currently on Mobil1 Gold 0w40. Planning to switch to Royal Purple 5w30. Would there be any issues?
Also where to find RP in shops cos I can only find on Shopee atm?
RM50 per quart on Shopee.

Owners manual does not specify type of oil,but you'll find viscosity. This viscosity table will have a range. I'm pretty sure you'll find mineral oil viscosity in that table. Once confirmed,no worries in using that oil.

I really see no benifit in using full syn oil for your engine. IMO its just waste of money. However since you say there is obvious performance difference, go ahead with full syn. If you are willing to spend money for that oil, its fine!

for me the FS is too go as the price is kinda affordable these days when purchasing it at Giant/ Tesco.
Benefit u can extend it to 12-14k km per oil change which for me more benefit than 5k km oil change for mineral oil.

For FD, I found 0W40 provide better performance. Followed by 5w40 and lastly 5w30.

For accord, i found the recommended 0w20 give better fc and more light feel vs mobil 1 5w30.

But cons of it, it only good for first 5k km only, by 6k km onwards will feel slightly heavier feeling engine
