"Average drive and normal maintenance" means 20k km /year group?? If so i wouldn't be so anal about any particular oil parameter. Just buy any oil within your budget and manufacturer's viscosity range, and it should live a long life.

108k km is nothing if your above mantra is followed. I would be more concerned about ATF/CVTF if I were you.

So, I've read around that it is okay to mix engine oil and it won't give any negative effect to our engine. Only downside is that the high grade engine oil won't perform like how it was suppose to be.

My question is, would it be better to mix different synthetic engine oil same viscosity say a fully synthetic 10w40 and semi-synthetic 10w40, compared to mixing same synthetic but different viscosity engine oil, assuming the brand is not a concern.

The reason why I'm asking is because I have a bunch of leftover EO laying around, almost all are different in brand but mostly semi-synthetic 10w-40.

The EO I have laying around is as below:-
1. Tesco 5w40 Fully-synthetic
2. Perodua 0w20 Fully-synthetic
3. Mobil Super 2000 10w40 Semi-synthetic
4. Liqui Moly 10w40 Semi-synthetic
5. Nasa 10w-40 Semi-synthetic
6. Rowe 10w-30 Semi-synthetic

It is very hard to really compile a recommended engine oil list as each owner/manufacturer has their own peeves to the requirement. So form a general guideline by looking through the car manual's engine oil spec list.

Not all engine oil manufacturer list their full specs in their official website. Some can be found through the virgin oil analysis (VOA) list in russian oil club :
https://www.oil-club.ru/forum/topic/7906-id...=30#entry628868

Or you can look through PQIA website (just take note that quite a lot of the products tested are not available here/different blend despite similar brand name) :
https://pqia.org/passenger-car-motor-oil/

Thank you, the second link help a lot, found out Mobil 1's engine oil has very high TBN but not sure I can find them in Kuching or not.

What's the popular engine oil brand in Malaysia?
Petronas, Shell, Honda, LiquiMoly, Royal Purple, what else?

ATF/CVTF previously only used Honda one, for major service I think I'll go back to Honda as well or u have other better brand?

Atf is not major service. I'm still using Honda atf even when I go outside workshop. I buy it from spare part shop then only go to workshop.

Atf you can change every 20k or 1 year. That's the schedule I do. Cabin filter 1 year. Engine air filter now I use washable so its 5k per wash. Change spark plug at 100k. Same with fuel filter. By the way, out of topic. But you can ask in your own car club thread.

Try 0w20 first , so that you can compare difference between SC's 0W20 and this Castrol SS 0W20.

Tesco started selling 5L Shell HX7 semi syn again! rclxm9.gif

But there is a sticker saying it's imported and distributed by a third party supplier. Should we be concerned?

Brands that i usually see in workshops are shell, castrol and mobil.

Will switch back to torco sr1 5w30

Both amsoil signature series and torco sr1 also not bad....
