I'm trying now on my turbocharged Exora. So far done 800kms in less than  a month after changing the oil , mainlyn outstation drive and few of city driving. Happy with it so far.

I bought the oil because Giant was doing a stock clearance sales selling at RM 80 (where to find full synthetic at RM 80) so I decided to give a shot.

FC so far is almost similar as my ex 10w-30. So that's a good sign. Cause I've tried once 15w40 HDEO diesel oil and FC was worse.
Being turbocharged it should withstand the extra heat and extra abuse (turbo addiction). Furthermore my car manual says recommended 10w30 but 5w40 oil appears "lower temperature range" in the manual compared to 10w30.

Would like to hear from others whom used this oil. I know it's too cheap to be true but if it's from Bosch what could go wrong.

If it original, then it ok. U are upgrade the oil to fully synthetic which mean it work much better than the previous semi or mineral engine oil.

As fully synthetic, it is known that it have higher temperatures limit vs mineral, hence no problems for your turbo campro engine.

I'm no pro. Driving 7 years old city. Mileage 10x k km.
Recently 2 months back bought 2 bottles of shell fully syn 5w40 from giant. Gonna change for the first time later this month. Switching from honda fully syn 5w30. According to blotter test, the oil doesn't seem to do well, so was thinking to switch. Switch to 5w40 mostly coz want to try shell and very hard get promo good deal for 5w30.

I'll let you know how it goes. But at the same time I wanted to try use seafoam to clean the engine too. Might affect the result.
*
Hi, so after changing from 5W30 to 5W40 for your honda city, any feedback? how is the result?

I'd put 5w-40, 5w-30 is not going to drastically improve the car's already fuel-thirsty behaviour.

Haven't change yet. Likely this week or next week. Decided against using seafoam at the same time coz I want to feel the difference switching over from 5w30 to 5w40.

Well I am assured its original from the sticker "Diimport oleh: Robert Bosch Sdn. Bhd" . Previously was using semi synthetic.
I initially wanted to go for Shell Helix Hx7 5w40 which Giant was selling initially at RM 89 but lastly went up to RM 99.

What I was initially concern was : According to my manual it listed down 5w40 ranges from -40C to 20C

So i think like you mentioned "fully synthetic, it is known that it have higher temperatures limit". Maybe the manual had that temperature reference for Mineral oil.

So far no unwanted incident even when I drove up Genting which supposed to stress the engine even more. No engine oil burning.
Just that I noticed sometimes the radiator fan turns on even on light driving after shutting down.
(I know its normal for turbo engines to turn on the fan after shutting down the engine) . smile.gif

Next month gonna balik kampung up north . Engine oil ready for another long distance drive rclxms.gif

My uncle has the same LMST car, I saw the owner's manual and it recommends 10w-40.

Glad to see this model mentioned a Premium fuel is ron95.
Here we always perceive that 95 is a low quality fuel

i totally have to agree with you . looking at my sister's Kia Sportage with a 2.0L NA engine its requirenent is similar to the Estima.

i found this interesting thread which had several owners sharing various oil temperature chart.

https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbth...319/type/thread

what i can say from looking at Audi turbo and Audi s6 requirements its not recommended to use overly thin oil.
Conclusion? Turbo needs a decent thickness of oil. 5w40 is like the borderline

Few track users are using 5w60 for that purpose.

Hi guys, im switching from 20w50 to 10w40
I feel better on performance but there is a lot smoke(white color) coming out from exhaust pipe.

If that mean the oil not thick enuf?
and i need tp switch back immediately or should be fine to wait until 6k mileage?

Mycar: iswara with 75k mileage
