Need no worry about the engine oil sell by tesco. I 've been using it for 6 years now in my Myvi. All brand i use as long as promotion price. Shell, Mobil 1, Gastrol. All fully synthetic. Look at the valve assy after i remove it to replace valve cover seal. Mileage now 107000km, brought new in 2008. 1st 2 years service at Perodua. After tat all DIY oil change

Damn I envy clean engine. No idea why mine internal end up brown-ish, all the while Full Syn (from Toyota, Motul 300v power, Torco Sr1, to LM Synthoil, to Motul xcess 8100). Only twice semi on LM MoS2. I suspect it was caused by twice Torco SR-1 pre-API cert 10k km OCI. Since Quazacolt MoS2 usage on his Saga still clean.

Since then I avoid non API certified oil. (LM MoS2 and old Torco SR1 were non API certified).

Vios 07 dugong. 10k OCI. 6k rpm occasionally.

Milleage 130k km.

Used to be 'F' always even until 10k OCI. Until the last time I used LM Synthoil Energy 0w40 starts the oil consuming issue. Approaching 10k km OCI I would used up the remaining 4L bottle for topping up. I would consider minor for the time being.

Now I'm using Motul Xcess 8100 5w40. Consumption still there.

Picture... let me dig through...

Still I envy clean engine. tongue.gif

p/s: I suspected Torco was because it was the time when my dipstick started having brownish stains stick on it.

I am a BMW owner , too ( not E serie, but still) , every time I have some issues with engine oil changing... usually it is rather helpful and informative.

Approvals like BMW LL01 or LL04 are not even mentioned, seriously?

One of the aisin's main shareholder is Toyota group. So I guess it wouldn't be a bad oil if it is not very good oil.

Not sure what is the base oil for their normal full synthetic oil but they do offer PAO & Ester blend at higher price though.

I doubt this Aisin has the same calibre of that Toyota Aisin. Similar to NASA engine oil having anything to do with the NASA that sends probe to Mars.

owh? adding to the engine oil and mix together?
*
Yes mix together. I'm testing one having minor oil consumption on my vios. Online reviews many said it works. I just pour in and see.

It says soften the rings and 'regenerate' it lol. I don't know.

Later give reviews please. Most LM oil in markets are semi synthetic
*
"Synthese Tech" is not semi synthetic. Group3+ Hydro cracked still considered fully synthetic that comes from dino oil.

If Group3+ HC were semi synthetic, then Shell Helix Ultra 5w40, Motul H-TECH / 100Plus should had been semi as well.

EU oil maker is particular about the Group3 vs Group4 fully synthetic that they use different naming to distinguish them - group3 (synthetic technology) vs group4 (fully synthetic)

Murica oil maker just label all of them fully synthetic, regardless group3hc or group4.

LM MoS2 10w30 and 10w40 definitely semi -- see the wording "teilsynthetisches"
