Hello Guys ,

Recently , i mean last week . I ordered a condenser microphone online and it arrived today . It's a shotgun microphone .

I using Canon 60D with magic lantern firmware . When i plug in to my DSLR , i only able to record either Left Gain or Right Gain . Using the Magic Lantern Firmware i can choose either one channel . Even tho the default firmware

also cant get the both side balance . When i play on my laptop , my left speaker only got sound while right speaker hiss only .
What can i do for it ya ?

I'm using XLR on the Microphone ------> 3.5mm Mic Jack Cable just bought recently too .

The mic is awesome crystal clear for the price but why am i getting one side sound only ?

Sifu please help , anyone want to let go cheap cheap budget and nice microphone , please pm me . I'm just student , not really cant afford a rode video mic .

I believe your 3.5mm is a wrong TRS configuration.

They probably wired the tip to the hot +ve audio channel and ring to the -ve cold audio channel.

They should just wire the +ve hot audio channel to the tip and ring.

So just get the correctly wired xlr to 3.5mm adapter.

Either way, many video editing software can convert stereo to mono. You can Just use that.

Hey JjGoh,

Keep me in tab, I want to go into videography but havent yet dwell into it yet.

Later you setup successfully liao let me know how you setup the cheapest decent quality setup. i'm looking to make youtube videos.

Not too sure what is it because i dont really know what it is .. sorry about that .

The Cable I bought for RM40 . Brand Motes . Description said : Audio Connection Cable 3.5mm Stereo - XLR Female Length : 0.5mt

Hey , sure why not smile.gif

If the mic gao tim already then i am done , the mic quality is not bad . but just lazy to settings tho . maybe see who want i sell cheap cheap .

Yeap.
You should get the XLR balanced to 3.5mm mono instead.

bad luck , they say they dont have mono type and said that normally shot gun mic is using stereo to achieve best quality and he told us that when record only left gain , during editing it will make it balance . hope he's right

Duplicate the audio channels and apply on right.

No.

XLR from your mic is Mono.
It's connected wrongly into a stereo TRS cable.
Plain and simple, no quality loss/gain in that.

From your audio, just change stereo to mono. It should solve your problem, as stated in my first reply.

thanks ! i solved my problem with pinnacles studios just convert them , dont know that it was so easy ! thanks !

my video quality so bad sad.gif grainy
