Hi guys,

Been reading this forum from version 1 to the latest version. The deeper I go into the forum the more headaches I get, due to all those acronyms and modification terms. Anyway, I have also undoubtedly gained a lot of knowledge.

Honestly, I have never modded a phone in my life. I am just a guy who uses a phone as it is (except installing on-the-air updates, which is just a one-click process), and I would like to stay that way.

I am planing to buy a 64GB OnePlus One China set, probably from DirectD. I have confirmed that OnePlus One sold at DirectD has CyanogenMod 11, not Cyanogenmod 11S. Just asking for second opinions, in case they don't what what they are talking about:

Once I get my hands on the phone with Cyanogenmod 11 on it, can I update to CyanogenMod 11S with the latest version using on-the-air updating? If I can't, then I can assume that I need to install CyanodenMod 11S myself, and then on-the-air updating is possible, right?

I have read that a few (maybe all) users of un-modded OnePlus One have no major issues (network, etc). I'd like to hear more from them to convince me.

Thanks.

Yes, I have contacted them and they confirmed that all sets have CyanogenMod 11, not 11S.

Back to my original post, hope that someone can response to that.

Due to lack of response and my eagerness to get a unit, I'd like to repeat my question:

Once I get my hands on the phone with Cyanogenmod 11 on it (sold by DirectD), can I update to CyanogenMod 11S with the latest version using on-the-air updating?

I think the answer I seek is not on the first page.

I will rephrase my question:

Once I get my hands on the phone with Cyanogenmod 11 on it (sold by DirectD), can I update from Cyanogenmod 11 to CyanogenMod 11S using on-the-air updating?

Like the other forummers mentioned,

1) Every Info on flashing is on the First Page of this Thread

2) It has already been mentioned many times in the thread.

READ THROUGH THE THREAD. NOT HOPE TO BE SPOONFED ALL THE TIME. GEEZ.

BTW, AGAIN, let me reiterate, if you buy an AP unit from Direct D, 1 Gadget, it is ALREADY FLASHED TO 11S.  doh.gif

Geez, I think the answer I seek is not on the first page.

Geez, I will rephrase my question:

GEEZ, I ADVISE YOU DON'T BE SPOONFED EITHER. I AM REITERATING TO YOU THAT I HAVE SAID IN MY POSTS THAT I HAVE CONTACTED DIRECTD PERSONALLY AND THEY TOLD ME EACH AND EVERY FRICKING ONEPLUS ONE SOLD BY THEM HAS CYANOGENMOD 11 (I REPEAT, IT'S NOT A TYPO) INSTEAD OF 11S. AND THAT WAS YESTERDAY!!!!! GEEZ WHAT HAVE BECOME OF MALAYSIANS.

chill, dude. reposting/shouting will not get your question answered. i dont have the exact answer to your question, but the OPO my gf got from DirectD did have CM11 installed, not CM11S. CM11 has all those chinese apps (weibo, etc). flashed it to CM11S right away so wouldnt know if it would've received the OTA update. even if you dont get the OTA, it's very easy to flash CM11S on the OPO. hope that helps.
*
Thanks dude. I wasn't shouting hehe.

Well, if it is very easy to flash to CM11S then I'm convinced that I can do it too. It's just that I'm concerned if flashing by ourselves might void the warranty.

Please lar... if they are so sure that "EACH" and "EVERY FRICKING OPO" sold is CM11, how come mine and many others LYN forumers here are getting CM11s... I repeat... it's not a typo ! I got my OPO from DD and it is CM11s.. I am not sure who u were talking to from DD, but there are plenty of forumers here confirming that DD did flashed CM11s, u urself do the thinking, don't jump to the conclusion.
*
That's the reason why I am in this thread in the first place. It seems that you want an audio recording of the conversation I made with the shop guy I made a few days ago. Guess what? My office phone doesn't have a recorder! Even if it does, would I even do it? Why don't you call them now and ask the same question I asked? I never said forumers here are wrong, but just like other reasonable, considerate and unhostile forumers responded to my post, maybe they no longer come with CM11S. And that is not an argument because I wasn't making any. And I don't know what conclusion that I made you are talking about but I wasn't making any and merely asking a question on updating CM11 to CM11S using on-the-air updating.

If you still have doubts with all the sifus here, why still ask ur question at LYN? Btw, let's spoonfeed u one more time. U can always check urself when u got ur OPO from DD, just ask them to switch on the device and check on Cyanogen Version, if it says CM-11.0-XNPH22Q or 25R then it is CM11s. U can always get latest OTA.

Fyi, http://www.androidpit.com/cyanogenmod-11-v...ain-differences , this is a good thread to know the difference.
*
Please point out sentences I made that I'm implying I have doubts with all sifus here. Btw, let's spoonfeed you with a bigger silver spoon and pat you with a golden glove: there's a difference between being wary and being dumb. Calling them first to ask about the product and researching on the net before going to the shop with a possibility of a letdown is being wary. But, dragging my ass to the shop just to see the Cyanogen version and also with an equal possibility of a letdown, after going through traffic jams, toll and wasting time to search for a parking spot, is just plain dumb.

QUOTE(drumhitz @ Aug 17 2014, 02:32 AM)
Anyhow, if you happened to get the CM11, like sKrewd, you can always flash to CM11s. Since u said u are very sure u can flash urself to CM11s, then I wont talk much on it here, you can always refer Page 1 also.
*
Let's spoonfeed you one more time kiddo, read my first post. Don't jump to conclusion that I can do flashing. I even said that I already have headaches with all the acronyms. All I'm asking is can we convert our CM11 phone to CM11S using on-the-air updating? Tone down you attitude kiddo. Don't label others culpable, especially when you are the emotional type.

Thank God that if it wasn't because of your post, I wouldn't know how to split quotes into many sections. I appreciate and thank to all who have been kind to strangers like me, as I have gained a lot of input from your responses. I will continue to read through, get involved in this forum and seek help.

Who is asking to be spoonfed?. I don't need any info from u. I'm using the one plus and its on cm11s. It is you who are asking all these questions demanding that somebody answer you. If you are too dumb to understand these terms and how cm works and too lazy to look up this thread maybe you should just get a Samsung and use it stock
*
Yes, you do need info from me because you failed to read my post that says I called them up and that's where the misunderstading/ignorance is. Failing to read my previous post is spoonfeeding, according to your antagonistic accusation against me. But this is not about my question, kiddo. Please look up what my intended question is and be more polite by not assuming people dumb. Luckily this is not a face-to-face conversation. If you don't wanna response, I believe there are still Good Samaritans who can help me out and make this thread a better community.
