this nvr happens when im on M8.. and by updating to the bug fix M9
i dont see a necessary of factory reset..

It depends on one's preference. Some (like me) like AOSP; clean and light.
Google made it vanilla so others can source and add more features into it themselves (like manufacturer's skin or self-baked). But I get your point on another consumer POV.

seem like the volume earpiece is quite common for OPO. i planning to buy  OPO but seem like the phone is still have many problems such as yellow tint, volume issue, auto shutdown. now thinking OPO  or G3

There'll be drain but it's a light app; it wakes the phone when got notification; so drain will be minimum compare to touchscreen control (dt2w/s2w); where screen need to be awake to register touch 

definitely sucking juice compared to the "expensive" AMOLED since AMOLED default pixel is black.
