Hey y'all, silly question. What are you guys using as a phone mount in the Mazda 3? Trying to find a solution that does not require me to stick anything on the windscreen or dashboard.

QUOTE(mhanis @ Apr 29 2015, 12:53 PM) QUOTE(neospider @ Apr 29 2015, 01:13 PM) Blocking the air-cond vent, not an issue meh? yeah blocking aircond would be an issue for me. The slag method, hmm, functional but abit ugly, lolMy previous car, I used to just tie a rope across the air-cond vent with slag, then fix the phone with flip casing (flip to the back) and just hang the phone below the air-cond vent... I even manage to find a suitable slag to hang my Ipad mini ..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3kRdYG9IXo but with more rope slag so that it don't block the air-cond vent ..... QUOTE(XiuKeong @ Apr 29 2015, 01:31 PM) ah this could be an option. have you tried it in the Mazda 3? am wondering if it fits coz the CD slot is quite recessed in and above it, the aircond dials are protruding out. |

Hey guys/gals, I've been driving the Mazda 3 (ckd high-spec) around the past 3 days, with I-Stop on. Whenever I'm at traffic lights, the engine turns off like normal, but it will start back on again after like 10 seconds. My foot is still on the break pedal though, didn't move anything. Happens pretty often. I would expect it to stay off until I release my foot.
Is this normal? |

Hey Deraville, I think you're right about the aircond temperature. Previously I've always set it to 19. Now I've increased it to about 23-24, and the iStop seems to have last longer. Will continue experimenting.

QUOTE(jutamind @ May 4 2015, 01:38 PM) Mine seems to happen around the speed of 20-30km/h when going thru bumps/uneven road....but the sound/symptom seems like not consistent Seems to be a common problem with the CBU model as well, as I read from much earlier posts in this thread (starting from page 1, lol). So not only CKD models affected. Something to do with the lower arm brush. |

QUOTE(jutamind @ May 4 2015, 07:10 PM) Not sure whether it's lower arm or some other suspension parts. Realized that the sound is more likely to happen during the first drive in the morning/the moment you drive after parking for some time....once the car had been driven, the sound hardly happens even though u drive thru bumps at the speed I mention Yeah same for me as well. My first 1k km service is coming up sometime next week. Gonna ask the SC guys about it and see what they say. |

QUOTE(muffdiver @ May 10 2015, 06:12 PM) Anybody in CKD tested the effectiveness of the Smart City Brake? I asked the SA but even they themselves don't dare to test it out. Scared it doesn't detect and dents their demo car. I got a taste of it a few days ago, when I was going probably a little bit too fast thru a Smart Tag lane. It detected the boom gate was still down in front, and the car braked abit by itself. I initially thought WTF was that, and then I saw the Smart City Brake light was red on my dashboard. So yeah, pretty effective. LOL. |

QUOTE(aiskrimcup @ May 11 2015, 10:49 AM) According to the Mazda 3 spec sheet, the smart city brake support should work at speed of 4 - 30km/h. Yup, the other condition is you shouldn't already be pressing on the brakes. The Smart City Brake will deactivate once brake pedal is pressed. And the rear vehicle monitoring (RVM) works at speeds above 30km/h. |

QUOTE(jutamind @ May 16 2015, 02:28 PM) I think there's a guy here that manager to update infotainment version to v53.x. May I know is your car ckd version? Alamak, I just sent my car for 1k service this morning. Totally forgot to ask about the firmware update. It still remains at v51.x. Went to the PJ Fed Highway centre btw.I tried to ask sc to update during my first service and they said my v51.x is the latest |

QUOTE(avenger242 @ May 30 2015, 02:43 PM) Oh alright. Thanks ! You could probably try increasing the volume of the beep? I found mine a bit too soft at default setting, so i bumped it up a notch.Initially i thought was after the car start moving...it will lock itself after 30 seconds. BTW, another question. Whenever i lock the car using the button on smart key... the only blink once WITHOUT sound or beep ? Is this a defect or normal ? |

QUOTE(MusicForLife @ Jun 2 2015, 08:20 PM) Pumped Ron 95 for the first 2 weeks. Got about 8.5 to 8.7 l/100 km average. Now switched to Ron 97 for about 1.5 weeks, at the moment averaging at about 7.5 to 7.8 l/100 km. (Not sure if my driving style changed, but I think it didn't) Engine feels smoother too (although that's just a "feel", no scientific method to measure that, lol. it could be psychological). Might stick to 97 for the next few weeks to observe. |

QUOTE(Miux @ Jun 8 2015, 01:20 AM) Hello proud M3 owners Haha I've been driving around the high spec M3 for the past 1 month plus already, and honestly the best solution is to turn it off. Lol. It's almost automatic now for me: get into car, start engine, lock door, turn off I-stop, drive. Just a quick check on the i-Stop, is it true that planets must be aligned in order for it to be activated for a long time? E.g. I stopped at the traffic light, pressed firmly on the brakes and i-Stop activated, about 5-7 seconds later, i-Stop deactivated and engine turned back on (without me doing anything, foot still firmly on brakes). Same goes when I've shifted to neutral and applied the handbrake. Of course there are some other times it was activated for a long time. I've read the manual and apparently there are tons of conditions to be met for the i-Stop to be activated, like wheels must be pointing straight ahead, on a less steep ground, temperature on the outside and inside must be similar (I suspect this could be the reason), etc. ...it's my new CKD high spec M3 btw I've been using I-stop for the first few weeks when I got my car, and now based on the Fuel Economy Monitor system, I-Stop has been activated for a total of about 45-50 minutes, and I only extended my range for about 5-6 km. I didn't think it was that great, so I'm not using it anymore now. Anyhow, to answer your question. Best way to maximize the time I-stop is activated, is when your aircond is set to Auto, temperature at about 22-25, and your interior cabin has already cooled down. Whenever I connect my phone via Bluetooth, I notice that only 60-70% of my phone contacts get synced over. For example, all my contacts from A-S gets synced, but T-Z doesn't.
Anybody experiencing the same as well? |
