not sure whether buy the low spec or high spec
*
For me, i will definitely go to high spec if my budget allowed. The different is the spec as mention above. Some of the things we can mod ourself by getting low spec, but some of the things is we got money also unable to mod or it will be costly if we mod after that.

For example, keyless entry, HUD, lane departure warning, blind spot, adaptive bi-xenon headlight, auto headlamp and wiper sensor, pedal shift, navigator, automatic climate control, power seat, cruise control. This is the item you will unable to modify it with low spec. Unless you got money to mod it, why not get high spec? Original come with is better than you install after market.

Like 18" rim and leather seat you can easily change it if you want anytime. So what i want to say is those features on high spec is the things you unable to modify it.

For me, i feel worth on 15k different and even some of the features is not so useful, i still think is better i have all those rather than i don't have. This is the design on the car that come with the features itself.

If out of budget, think of it might be extend another year of loan and can get all you want.

Any way to add the keyless entry on the low spec model? Got push start but no keyless entry means still have to take out the key.

Still need to press manually on your remote control to get in the car. tongue.gif

H Guys,

First time posting in LYN.

After test-driving quite a few cars (408T, Jetta, Cerrato, M2, M3 and friend's CX5), I think I have decided on the M3 HiSpecs.
Had my heart really, really set out on the soul-red colour, but unfortunately, they don't have it for the CKD...sigh :-(
Probably settle on the Aluminium metallic.

Can anyone refresh me with the current heads-up when dealing with negotiating with an SA to buy a new car? (I bought my last car, Toyota nearly 12 years ago, and from a friend).

Also, can anyone tell me the best deal they've got, and any freebies that any of you got from your SA? I'd like to be ready with all the info when I meet to discuss with the SA this weekend. I'm from Penang Island.

Thanks...
*
I believe different SA had different offer. Some with freebies like umbrella, touch & go card, full tank. All those is cheap stuff. I think new m3 ckd don't have any discount at the moment as the car just launching. Probably you can ask for free tinted is more worth.

How do u guys tint your brand new M3?? Through SA or done it yourselves at outside shops?? Any problems with warranty if doing outside??

Anyone using LLumar window films??
*
My SA have Llumar as tint partner. So I let them do it instead of bring the car myself and find tint shop. I notice some tint shop not pro enough to tint the window, sometime they not sure how to remove the door panel and some of them like not so confident to remove it. So with Llumar as the tint partner i guess they are expert in M3 as they do a lot. Some more all tint come with 5-7 years warranty. If bubble or peel off, can be claim without any cost. Now is see your SA offer you tint voucher or free tint for you. You need to check what type of tint they are giving to you. Important the tint must be useful and can reduce heat.

Some say left side, some say right side but you have to be going over bumps at 20-30km/h and one owner say it is hardly noticeable. I went to Honda HRV thread and some owners were complaining about loud kok kok noise when going over bumps. Maybe it is a small thing and we are hyper sensitive to this issue. But if you read other car threads you will find there is no perfect car. If you insist on a perfect model you will never buy anything.
*
I agree with you. All brand car will have problem. No matter you buy cheap or expensive car as there is no car is 100% perfect. I also in HRV club and seen a lot of complain, and my family new CRV also have lot of problem and until now Honda still unable to solve. Bought 1 week before CNY and Honda say need to wait until end of May for KL technician arrive to test just decide what to claim. You say, Honda worse or not? Even everyone know H and T have a lot of SC around malaysia and with good service, but the problem still unable to solve. So, for me car is not drive forever. Dare to try it, if not happy, after 3-5 years can sell and buy another car.

I just pressed him yesterday... 😜😜😜 He said still need to queue.. He will follow up maximumly. But I am a bit dissapointed la. Coz what's the point of pre-book early leh??
*
You should press him kao kao. You can tell him you are not satisfy with his service and willing to cancel order. There is so many SA out there and you can seek for the faster commitment SA can give you. It launch on April, so i guess is within 2 months time from April. Even you book on Feb als need to count start from April.

Passenger windows need to be removed to tint ? Thought it could be tinted as it is.
*
It should need to remove the 4 door panel in order to tint. I not sure if nowadays the tint shop can tint the window without remove the door panel. Correct me if i am wrong. From my passed experience, it is. And i also do notice lot of tint shop do not know how to remove the door panel if the car is newly launch. Also worried they cannot assemble it back correctly and will caused lot of sound afterward. Later release 10 screws after assemble still got balance 2 screws. Hehe..

Yea that's my worry if they don't know how to pasang balik properly and have rattling noise. I saw some tint shops using blade knife to push it into the grooves, that's y I asked if really need to remove. Looks dodgy though.
*
I think is depends on the tint shop skill. Some tint shop can tint very well and might not remove the door panel. Yeah, previously was sitting there waiting and watch they remove the door panel. Heart very pain when you see their hand is not soft and paksa paksa buka. Haha...sometime feel don't go and watch is better otherwise you will unable sit there and keep quiet. Sometime you watch, they are more pressure. Especially those tint shop who hire new guy/student who not enough professional skill.

Dear all LYN Madza 3 Owners and Sifus,

I'm planning to get myself a C-Segment car this year and Mazda 3 High Spec would be my choice.

But sadly, seems like a lot of showroom doesn't have test drive unit for this car. Anyone of you happened to know that which showroom has the high spec sedan for test drive?

To the owners out there, how was the driving experience so far?
*
Just visit any mazda showroom and test the cbu m3 will do.

Seeking advice from all pros here.

Thinking of getting a mazda 3 ckd low spec sedan later this year. My present salary is about 5k gross and 4.3k nett. Would like to ask whether this is the right car for my income bracket or go for something cheaper... like the honda city, haha. Sifus who have boight the new mazda 3, mind sharing your... income level? If i am still too far below the acceptable range, then i will put off my plans for now and go for the cheaper option.

also, what do you guys think about  used 2011 mazda 6 which are going for about 80k? Advisable to consider?

Appreciate your replies.

Is all depends on you as you need to calculate your monthly commitment, your other loan such like housing, parents, insurance or children. If you are singles and no other commitment should be alright and have back up from family will be better. Also need to see if you are staying kl or other small town. If you are from kl, the expenses, petrol, tol might cost like a bomb. Also need kao lui, clubbing, drinks, movie, etc...

What is the purposed you buy M3, maybe if it can help on your work as you keep travelling during your work and can make you earn more money in future, then it should be ok. Or you just drive to work, back home then is a bit waste. Car is always our kuli. So think of it and all the above is only my personal opinion.

If you take 80% loan for 7 years the instalment will be about RM1200 a month. Assuming you don't have heavy commitments you should be able to afford this from your income. If you take a City or Vios you will still be paying about Rm1K a month which is not a lot of difference.

Changing cars is expensive in Malaysia. You take a big hit in depreciation every time you change. It is better to buy the car you really want and to drive for a long time than to buy a half-way car and change it after a few years because you are dissatisfied with it. Actually your income is at the boundary between B-segment and C-segment and as your income rises you will feel more comfortable.

Among the C-segment cars the Mazda 3 low spec is one of the best value for money if not the best. You get the full set of safety and fuel saving features as the high spec.  If you are keen on this car then go for it!

I am curious if any expert or SA here could comment on this: could we get the OEM digital Aircond panel and change the one currently original from Mazda?
It is really a big draw back. Try to imagine your friend will tease u:" what? You have Kancil style aircond knob nowaday still in C segment car??"
*
I totally agree with you. M3 is quite perfect car in term of brand, specs and features. The only make this car look bad is the aircond knob. I know this is different with kancil as this is digital function as well. Just it does not have a display on the digital mode. If this panel can be change or replace with the pic shown, it is worth to change to get a better look. Probably the dual zone might not function (i guess) but if single zone will do good for me too. Or maybe there is any aircond panel for M3 with single zone?

Maybe SA can order and i guess is plug and play. Just need to know the price. If rm1k over, i believe still got people will change it. What you guys think?? rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

Actually i tot M3 come with this as the catalogues show like this. blush.gif

Did any M3 user install Driving Recorder (DVR) and did a very nice wire management? Mostly the DVR need plug into the cigarette lighter socket and the wiring look messy, somemore our M3 socket is inside the center console box. Did anyone install it with perfect wiring? Please share your though.

This sort of drastic change only the manufacturer can provide as installing an aftermarket unit will be a nightmare with all the wiring and interfacing and fitting neatly into the console. It is sure to void the warranty.  There is nothing much you can do so just be happy with it. No need to compare with Kancil as some luxury cars also use knobs for A/C control. Perhaps the only thing you can improve on it is to add some aftermarket trim for the knobs which I've seen before in photos.
*
Do you aware the knob they modify is for low spec ckd? I am not refering to after market as the panel is currently use by M6 and CX-5. So is a common item. Void warranty? No problem at all.

agree And I think not only M6, for oversea version M3 it is using this digital panel as well from factory.

Yeah I don't mind if the dual zone is dummy, as this digital panel compare to that stupid knob really " one is sky, one is ground"
*
I agree with you. I know the function is no different, just only the look with display. The look really 1 sky 1 ground....haha rclxms.gif

No choice lo. Malaysia M3 is like this. Actually during CKD launch, i tot it will be dual zone for CKD as all the feature is completed, but....still a "haizzzzz"

Actually, the digital display air-con panel is from the cbu. Here is a scan from the brochure I got when I went to view the cbu car early this year. And I actually played around with the controls when I tested the cbu car. Nice.
Mazda could have kept the same panel in the ckd. It's a pity really. I don't think it would have cost that much extra.

[attachmentid=4447149]

No, you are wrong. It does not apply in CBU unit as well. Only the brochures show so. CBU and CKD have the same aircond knob.
