I am thinking of getting one too. But I don't understand the logic of the price when compared to available options today. (Note that it is an outgoing model, and is outspecced by probably every car that is in the same or less price range as the M3 1.6)

Honda City 2014 V-spec, Ford Fiesta (1.0 Turbo), Hyundai Elantra, All New Mazda 2 (I'm guessing launching next year at estimated price of 85k-87k with new engine and better specs).

Some might argue that M3 1.6 is a C segment car and shouldn't be compared with B segment cars , but honestly car segments are non-benefical at deciding what car to buy, and the 1.6 specs is nothing compared with the 2.0.

Guys,

I might be planning to buy the new Mazda 2 (yes 2 not 3), I'm fine with everything except for the i-stop function. After reading thru some posts here about the i-stop not functioning the way it is supposed to be (which requires software upgrade etc) and how it sucks up battery.

I only hope that Mazda have fixed that shit up for the Mazda 2 after experiences with the 3. No point having a fuel saving feature only to cause hole in my wallet fixing/maintaining it (yearly replacement of batteries). Is there a way to off/remove/disable that thing?

its not very useful on city driving, i would buy it even w/o the istop function

FC to me is quite reasonable, with 50/50 urban & outstation driving, avg 8.2l/100km

That's thing about newer cars today with so much electronics (not saying that it is bad), the more things you have in your car the more things can breakdown or spoil. It's clear that they should have performed more testing before releasing it to the public (or relying on the public to become guinea pigs).

If there's an option to disable it permanently/remove it, I will until a few years later when they have come up with a permanent solution. Honestly, I didn't expect this of Mazda.

After seeing the spec of Mazda 2, where no LED DRL and sunroof..

Suddenly felt satisfied and not an idiot afterall. LOL  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  tongue.gif

LED DRL can put aftermarket ones right? Not a problem there.

How often do you use your sunroof? Honestly if I am given a car with sunroof, I doubt I will use it. It might come in handy in the 2 though since the interior is small, and having a sunroof might help with the cramped feeling.

i know right!

found compatible cam at ebay , probably fit one soon. earlier while at sc i ask em , they only say as long the wiring done properly then no need to worry about warranty , they also got a listed car accessories shop that they recommend me to try also

Seriously why do you need a reverse camera when you have sensors. Unless you have really bad parking skills then yes a reverse camera will be important for you. Otherwise I'd rather to not have it and they price the car less.

Quick poll!

Which will you choose if both same price?

2nd hand 2013 Mazda 3 2.0 (previous model) full spec sedan - still have 3 years warranty and 3 years free service, condition is very good and low mileage.

or

2015 Mazda 2 with current leaked specs - comes with 3 years warranty and 3 years free service.
