The problem may take a few thousand km to show up if it does.

Was it a CKD or CBU test drive car? Most outlets only have CBU cars for test drive. I tested both CBU and CKD and both do not have this issue.

As the lowspec M3 has the same touchscreen hardware as the high spec but lack the navigation function can we reinstate the navigation function by buying maps from Mazda?

Great idea. The protruding touchscreen of the M3 makes an excellent support for a 7" tablet. All we need for a full Android head unit is to devise some method to clip/unclip the tablet to the HU. No need to cut wire. No need for complicated mirrorlink or miracast. Won't void warranty. Just attach and play.

As for Mazda's RM1200 price... HIGHWAY ROBBERY!

From what I know most dealers will ask for the DP after the HP agreement is signed. The HP agreement should have the car's engine and chassis no. which means a specific car has been allocated to you and should arrive in a few days time. Ideally we should pay the DP after we inspect and is satisfied with the car but once a car has been allocated to you it is practically impossible to change even if there are defects. Owners have to settle the defects with the SC.

However this is only what I know from online research. I'll be interested to know how actual owners go through the process.

I don't think 90K for a 4 year old MPS which was 135K new is such a fantastic deal that you have to be worried about what's the catch. It's only about 33% depreciation when one should expect 40%-50% depreciation. As a rule of thumb, the baseline depreciation is 20% in the first year and 10% for each additional year within the first 5 years. So you can still knock down the price because it is not cheap.

Why would you want to turn it off permanently? It is still useful.

Some say left side, some say right side but you have to be going over bumps at 20-30km/h and one owner say it is hardly noticeable. I went to Honda HRV thread and some owners were complaining about loud kok kok noise when going over bumps. Maybe it is a small thing and we are hyper sensitive to this issue. But if you read other car threads you will find there is no perfect car. If you insist on a perfect model you will never buy anything.

Door panels need to remove to tint windows.

Sounds like some springs creaking when you go over a bump. Not such a big deal for me but it will be good if Mazda can find a solution.

Does the M3 low spec come with reverse camera?

I heard that Japanese cars don't do autolock anymore because one women in Japan won a court case where she sued the car manufacturer because rescuers couldn't open her door due to autolock. But in Malaysia you are in more danger from robbers from driving an unlocked car than from being locked in in an emergency. Besides, rescuers can always break the window.

It is still possible to install auto lock from GS Accessories which is an authorized Mazda installer but the price is steep.
