No worries changing of Sport Rim doesn't effect the warranty of car.. Cheers~~~
*
so far so good~ laugh.gif

QUOTE(KennyKB @ Apr 18 2015, 06:43 AM)
Not sure that 18" rims have lower fuel consumption. I thought it should be higher because they are heavier.

But the engine noise and vibration during idling is impressively quiet. You don't even know that i-stop has stopped the engine until you let go of the brake and you feel a slight vibration when the engine fires up.
*
QUOTE(ZaiZai1989 @ Apr 18 2015, 09:00 AM)
for more city driving.. actually 16" will save more fuel...
*
stock rims are always heavy, must see the total weight of the wheels+tyres, but it doesn't have significant impact on FC, changing to lighter rims can improve acceleration tho

iirc the weight for 18" stock rim is bout 26.8lbs (12kg+)

does m3 ckd comes with auto lock, ie either by brake/speed? if not, any shop outside that has the auto lock accessory? will it affect warranty?
*
nope, u can try GS auto, mazda authorized installer, no speedlock, brakelock last time was RM380

QUOTE(KennyKB @ Apr 19 2015, 12:10 PM)
No, it does not. If you install outside it will probably void warranty for electrical system. My SA quote RM600 to install but I heard it can be done cheaper by going direct to Mazda authorized installer. Any CBU owners can share the location and pricing? I think auto brake lock is a must for security as it is very hard to remember to lock all your doors all the time.
*
your SA quite greedy hmm.gif
location pricing as above

QUOTE(gnoy @ Apr 19 2015, 02:21 PM)
May I know what's the price difference between 16" and 18" tyre?

And also 17"?

Thanks
*
there is an price list in tyre section
but usually
16" = 200-300
17" = 350-600
18" = 500-1000"
depending on brand of tyres

Why need front parking sensors? I wouldn't pay RM600 for this. If you are going forward you can easily look forward right?

Btw, how much are the new 18" rims and Toyo tyres worth for trade in? I know accessory shops will try to chop but we must have a guide so we don't get chopped too much.
*
U wouldn't know how many of our owners suffered because no front sensor

as i know, some showroom free provide front sensor, inconvenience to disclose ere

QUOTE(KennyKB @ Apr 19 2015, 09:30 PM)
At RM600 I don't think there are many takers. Although I can't really see what sensor can be better than your own eyes.

front hood is long, seats are low, u cant really see how long is infront of u with your eyes, it takes time to get used to it

front sensor, auto mirror fold (when lock door), brake door lock.

this 3 can it be installed without void warranty?
how much would that?
*
front sensor u can ask ur SC if they provides o not and whether it voids the warranty.
for the rest, if u don't mind paying the price, u can get it done at GS, it should not void your warranty, nvrtheless, please confirm with them again

If this is common problem in Mazda cars then really need to but WS insurance.

u can't trade in with mazda unless u can privately arrange with yr SA
or, just trade in in any rim shop

QUOTE(kluseng @ Apr 20 2015, 11:06 AM)
Hi, After reading the horror stories in LYN Ford Focus and Peugeot forums it is enough to make anybody run screaming back to H or T. Was about to pull the trigger for a Civic but Bermaz has come up with a very tempting offer for this Mazda 3 CKD. But will I regret it? Please answer this worried refugee from the comfort zone of H and T.

1. Any systemic problem with gearbox and transmission? Is the lower armbush problem resolved yet?

2.Is there any major maintenance milestone like 40K or 60K km which will cost a bomb?

3. Do they have enough service centres to attend to your problems without having to make long appointments ahead?

4. Do you have to leave your car for days for any repairs?

5. Are the parts readily available without long waiting time?

6. Are the service centres willing to replace parts under warranty or do they come up with 101 excuses? (Honda, I'm looking at you!)

7. Does the Mazda 3 use a special battery for the i-stop function? If so, how much does the battery cost?

8. Anything else I should be warned about before I pull the trigger in defiance of my wife's advice that I go for a safe Civic? Will I be listening to "I told you so" thereafter?

Thanks!
*
1. no problem with gearbox or transmission. armbush problem yet to fix
2. no idea yet, none of us has 40/60k mileage yet. normal service after 60k shud be RM500-600
3. nope, its not like VW
4. depends on what kind of repairs u mean
5. yes and no
6. so far so good, no excuses given
7. yes, bout 1.5k iirc, u can change to normal battery but istop/ieloop wun work then
8. T/H will be ofcoz more reliable, but i guess mazda is also keeping up well, as above forummer mentioned, interior to plastic like, i would rather go for the new altis than civic

It seems like many owners of M3 are going to do these:
- Trade in 18" rims&tyres and change to 17" or 16"
- Fixing autobrake lock
- Fixing auto-fold side mirrors when car stop
- Front sensor

Roughly how much will be the cost for those already survey the price?? And does it affect warranty actually??
*
none can give u a firm answer, SA and Bermaz itself said differently
- i traded in my 18"+ tyres (RM2000) 5k and 13k mileage (accident happens) for 17", not mazda rims, other lighter sport rims

QUOTE(maverickzack @ Apr 20 2015, 01:51 PM)
Wonder how the stereo system sound.. Will changing the speakers + Tweeters + Amp void the warranty?
*
i believe it will if there is any mod on wiring

QUOTE(kluseng @ Apr 20 2015, 01:56 PM)
Walau! Battery replacement RM1.5K just for the i-stop makes nonsense of fuel saving from i-stop. But fortunately can forget about the i-stop and use normal battery.

Armbush can change in SC under warranty and won't immobilize the car so not a deal breaker.

Normal service RM500-RM600 is rather high as outside price using semi-syn oil should be RM200 - RM250. After warranty sure service outside. Based on 3 years/60K km free service and 3 years/100k km warranty, have to service max of 3 times in SC only.

The "god brand" Toyota have to pay more for less safety features. Already discounted Altis from my shortlist.
*
tht was 1 year back ago, maybe they sell cheaper after CKD Launch (keeping my fingers cross), normal service is always higher in authorized SC, even my old H city normal service cost RM400
better service elsewhere if nothing major

not really, u can go at intervals on 5k & 8k, some of us do tht
it shud be 1k,10k,20k,30k,40k,50k,60k, service of 6 months based on their schedule

The low spec Mazda 3 use 16" rims. So if we downgrade to 16" or 17" Bermaz has no leg to stand on if they say that it will void warranty.

RM2000 for 18" rims + tyres seems very cheap. I presume this is for 4 sets?
*
it will affect your speedometer reading if your total diameter has changed significantly
ofcoz u can argue your way thru, we actually received a call from them, they too can confirm it won't void your warranty
but if u are closed with SC, they can close 1 eye n help la~ hmm.gif thumbup.gif tongue.gif

well this is the first time planning to get 2.0L car so it will my concern. Hope you can provide some rough figure . Btw what is the service interval , 5k or 10k?
*
between 5k-10k, up to u, some of us svc at 5k, 8k, 10k

QUOTE(KennyKB @ Apr 21 2015, 10:26 AM)
The service interval is 10K km. Free service for parts and labour for 3 years or 60k km whichever comes first. After that some CBU owners say normal service is RM500-RM600 but this is SC price which must use during warranty period. But I am told that even Honda SC charge RM400 for City normal service. After the 3yrs/100K km warranty of course can use outside shop to service. From my experience using semi-syn for my 2.0L car, oil & filter change can do for RM200.

If your service/warranty limit is mileage you only need to service 3 times in SC after the freebie expire - at 70K, 80K & 90K km.

If you are going for the high spec model, be warned that 18" tyres are very expensive. You should budget RM750 per tyre.

Jim.Tan who is an SA for Mazda has shared with us that the cost of the M3 special battery is RM400-RM500.

Hope this helps.
*
1st service is at 1k, subsequently 10k or 5k or 8k
RM750/ tyre see what tyre u get oni, if u are saying Michelin PS3, then yea, it cost RM700-750 ea
mid range tyre like toyo, goodyear only 500-600/pcs
korean tyres like achilles, nexen even cheaper

if RM400-500 for the "special battery", thts indeed good news, can bro @jim.tan confirm again on tht?

if u say u go like every 2-3k, then too much lor

QUOTE(KennyKB @ Apr 23 2015, 06:41 PM)
Wind noise I can believe but to cut down on road noise using rubber lining is totally ineffective. If your wind noise is reduced your road noise will appear louder so it's no point unless you treat the whole car including insulation for door panels, under carriage and boot.

There is a lot of Mazda 3 accessories on this facebook site but you have to request to join first. The response is quite fast.

i too agree on this, the insulation of the car is nt tht good, if u are really into reduce noise entering the cabin, undercarriage, front/rear bonnet+ 4 doors insulation with rubber lining state would be the most efficient, otherwise its quite pointless

Guys, found out in Paultan's review mentioned the new Mazda3 2.0's rpm is way too high at over 2500rpm @ 100km/hr? But another review from canadianautoreview mentioned it  is less than 2000rpm, before i go test drive to find out, anyone could confirm which is true? Btw, if rpm is this high, i doubt the fuel consumption will be at the higher side, so called the compression ratio 14:1 is not fuel saving afterall?
*
unless the CKD is different, mine at 100kmph at gear 6 is aprox 1800-2000rpm only

PLEASE do not buy from the TTDI branch, try your best to stay away from this dealer, they are seriously unethical and unprofessional. mad.gif

Hi guys, just a reminder so others don't have to go through the same bad experience as my friend. He just had a very rough experience as the salesman Zxx and manager Rxxx in TTDI branch simply provide false information and treat the customer with no respect. My friend doesn't want to bring up the whole thing here, but will submit a complain letter to HQ. Though not sure what HQ will do on dealers. Probably nothing.

I am not a salesman from other branches. But there are so many places that you can go besides TTDI branch. Trust me. They will tell you A today, and B tomorrow, maybe by next week there will be a C version of thing. Just for sharing. Peace!

By the way, looking for a trustworthy salesman who can provides excellent service with good reputation. Hopefully can meet a decent person with decent attitude. Please PM. Thanks! smile.gif

my case is like tht
i claim for the armbush last year, i was told it was in stock in 2 weeks, they say will give priority 1st as i am 1 of the 1st batch of CBU owners. so when i called after 2 weeks, they told mi allocation nt enough, they already use for other cars....i was so pissed off, i emailed bermaz and got a called from them quite fast, told them my problem and they say they will handle it. so afterwhile the SC called me back, says the part is availabe, ask me to go replace.

so i went for my appointment, all i got was treat in black face(which technician, i don't want to name la), i asked more question, out of 10 questions, i got like 5 replies only like too busy to entertain me. so after on, i did not go back for service anymore. Till recently, i was told i have to go back the SC because i claimed my part there due the the same armbush problem, however this time, it was much more friendlier than last time (different technician tho)

so thts y i ask, depends on mood and technician who attend u
