successfully reloaded at mydin usj1. no more problem like last week. 53 cents service charge including gst 6%.

Reload value into card: Rm 199.47

after you reload 10 times you will get 70 cents at the back lor.

round up?

1) 0% of 50 cents = 0 cents ; balance rm199.50
2) 6% of 50 cents = 3 cents ; balance rm199.47
3) 10% of 50 cents = 5 cents ; balance rm199.45

gst must be applied on service charge, so (1) surely not applicable. if you want me to choose (2) or (3), i rather choose (2) la. buat apa want to round up the gst from 6% to 10%.

RM199.47 is the nett amount of TnG credit that you "paid", after deducting RM0.53 (GST-inclusive).

if rounded to RM199.50, who's going to pay the RM0.03 difference?

Option 2 is the correct method

6% GST amount itself already, by default, rounded to 2 decimals (standard rounding mechanism).

e.g. 6% GST of RM0.50 service charge = RM0.03 (2 decimals, no rounding required).


Paid amount: RM200.00
Reload service charge: RM0.50
6% GST for reload service charge: RM0.03
Nett reload amount: RM199.47 (RM200.00 minus RM0.50 minus RM0.03)

Actually i rather pay the RM200.53 from my credit card

LOL, doesnt matter anyway cuz RM0.50 reload service charge and RM0.03 6% GST are fixed amount

as long as they dont over/under-charge us, that's a fair transaction

in fact, Jaya Grocer has been a great place to reload. They even took the effort the create a simple table (and pasted at reload service counter) to inform customers of the actual reload amount & reload service charge + GST amount.

(1) is before gst implementation.
(2) is after gst implementation.
(3) is if you want to donate to the merchant for the service charge. lol... (like our ibg is 10% instead of 6% )

(3) yalor, as the fee getting smaller, the 6% GST rounding sux. much like AMEX's 5% round-down mechanism.
