Here is a list of all or almost all vegetarian/organic restaurants or shops in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya:

This list is not that relevant to me because I am looking for vegan restaurants but the list is mostly vegetarian restaurants, with the vast majority being Chinese vegetarian restaurants. Currently, there aren't many vegan restaurants at all in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya but I was hoping to know of more.

Vegetarian basically means that meat is not eaten so there is no meat in the food. Vegan is stricter because it means no animal products in the food.  This means vegans do not take eggs and dairy (milk products) and probably even honey too.

I can tell you that Beyond Veggie is a vegetarian restaurant and not a vegan one because their cakes contain dairy products. I know because I have asked since I don't take dairy.

As for Simple Life Healthy Vegetarian restaurant, it seems to be more of a vegan restaurant than Beyond Veggie. Having said that, I would not qualify Simple Life as a vegan restaurant  as even their name has the word "vegetarian". I have looked through their menu items and it seems that none of the food items contain dairy or eggs except possibly their Pesto Spaghetti that could have cheese on it. Besides, they also have honey in their drinks.

Strictly vegan restaurants:
1. Loving Cafe in Sri Petaling
2. Loving Hut in Bandar Puteri Puchong, Sri Petaling, Ipoh and JB. You can visit www.lovinghutmalaysia.com
3. Woods Macrobiotics in SS 2 and Bukit Bintang
4. Cloud Dreaming Vegan Cake House in Penang (it is more of a cafe selling vegan cakes).

The following are not strictly vegan restaurants but they have many items that are vegan and raw vegan (I have a special heart for raw vegan):
1. Living Foods at Menara Tan & Tan, KL
2. Ashley's by Living Foods, Bangsar Baru
3. Fru-T-Pop in Taman Sri Hartamas
4. BMS Organics (they don’t have raw vegan items that I know of)
A special mention to Opika in One Utama because I like their organic food there. They even said that they are going to introduce vegan desserts soon.

Generally I like organic foods so I eat them occasionally. BMS Organics cafes/restaurants serves mainly vegan food, as far as I know, but I think they could use honey in their drinks.

What I like best are raw vegan desserts, which Living Foods, Ashley's and Fru-t-pop have.
