Current laptop spec:
Acer 4830TG

have been using this laptop for more than 3 years, thinking to buy a new laptop with better processor (lookin for i7 quad core)

1. Preferred Brand: Any brand with good aftersale service (warranty)
2. Budget : Max RM3,500
3. Usage : Daily usage for thesis writing (few hundred microsoft word with picture), HD movies and Photoshop
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : Not heavy not more than 15" (max)

Eye on this model:
http://www.dell.com/my/p/inspiron-14-7447-...?oc=w510831myw8

Any other model that I can compare or consider within my budget?

Hi, for your budget I think you may try Dell Inspiron 15 7537 Series
-i7 4510U Processor
-Nvidia Geforce 750M 2GB DDR5
-15.6" HD display (1366 x 768)
-Backlit keyboard
-8gb RAM

-Design like a Macbook Pro, but specs even better than a Macbook and more importantly CHEAPER
-Aluminium finish body design
-Thin, sleek design and it's Light, can easy carry around

Should I get a macbook air or surface pro 3.
Use it for university life, a little Photoshop, more typing reports, doing presentations slides, and mostly use it for surfing internet , is a monthly frequent traveller by plane too....

Scare won't able to adapt mac system, if I take mac air, which size is better? 11 or 13inches? 128 or 256GB better? How much left after install the Mac os?

Currently using asus ul80vt 13inches, water damage. TT
*
Well it much depends on you, if you like the Mac OS and have enough budget, of course you can always opt for a Macbook Pro. However, if you're a Window user and want to stick with Window OS but you want a laptop with a design looks like a Macbook Pro, here I can introduce you Dell Inspiron 15 7537 Model.

By comparing Inspiron 15 7537 Model to a Macbook Pro, you actually get a tons of benefits, I will list down them for you.
-First and the most important thing, it's ALOT cheaper than a Macbook Pro. (RM 2.7k vs RM 4k++)
-Window OS vs Mac OS, if you are used to Windows OS I would suggest you just stick with it
-Better specs. For Inspiron 15 7537, you can get :-
*Nvidia Geforce 750M 2GB DDR5 (It's a great Mid-Range GPU for Gaming purpose)
*4th Generation i7 4510U Processor
*8GB of RAMs
*1TB HDD 5400RPM
*Backlit Keyboard
*15.6 Inches HD Display (1366 x 768)
-A Better design
-A very premium and solid built aluminium body

Current we are doing DFO Sales, you can get Dell Inspiron 15 7537 Brand new with the abovementioned specs in the price of RM 2,700. Please PM me for a full list of specs & further details if you're interested smile.gif

Pavilion 15-p030TX, i5-4210U + Nvidia GT830M@RM2199[BeatsAudio], 8GB, 1TB, W8.1
Pavilion 15-p036TX, i7-4510U + Nvidia GT840M@[BeatsAudio], 8GB, 1TB; W8.1@RM2699

Based on these two specs, which one shall I go for?
The difference are only the processer (i5 vs i7)  and the GC 830m vs 840m)

Price Gap of 500!!!

Need help! Thanks

I personally never use a HP laptop before but I have seen many HP users complaining HP laptops can be easily get overheated when the time goes. Thus, I would suggest you to go for Dell or Lenovo. For the processor wise, it is much depends on your usage, if you got the budget and want to go for a higher speed one then i7 is your choice otherwise i5 should be enough for most of the everyday tasking.

DELL INSPIRON 15(5547), i5-4210U, 8GB RAM, AMD Radeon HD R7 M265 2GB DDR3, FreeDOS RM 1,950
DELL INSPIRON 15(5547), i7-4510U, 8GB RAM, AMD Radeon HD R7 M265 2GB DDR3, FreeDOS RM 2,200
DELL INSPIRON 15(7537), i7-4510U, 8GB RAM, Nvidia Geforce 750M 2GB DDR5, Window 8.1 RM 2,700

If interested in any of the models above can PM me for further details smile.gif
