Both of the abovementioned models should works well for all of the usage you mentioned, I personally think the 5437 model is more suitable for a girl with 11-12 years old. The reason is because it has a touch display functionality which is great for kids in learning. 5437 also has a DVD drive for a kids to play their movies in the DVD.
