I had 2 encounters with luggage damages before.

on first occasion, I could not claim anything from American Airway because there was no insurance coverage, I had to fork out USD75 to get myself a new one.

on second occasion, I bought a comprehensive travel insurance before flying to Japan and the wheels of the luggage from above was damaged. I managed to claim back the cost.

To be honest, luggage damage incidents are way higher than luggage lost.

when you apply at the branch, they should set up a temp PIN for you. You should then change it immediately at the ATM machine.

in my case, i see the new card automatically linked to m2u.

So, if you received the card but still don't see it in M2U, go to the branch to fill up a form to link it.

if card is approved, you'll see the new card number in your M2U.

Do check again before you go to branch to avoid going there twice.

No for bringing spouse with 1 card, unless you are planning to pay for spouse. All you need to do is, supp a card for your spouse, it's free and both can use PPL for free.

that's true. they will always persuade you not to use credit card. But the booking fee is ok. however, usually limit to within 5k.
