I want to check my RAM speed so I installed CPUZ and and went to read the information.



I have low IT proficiency. My friend confirmed that these readings are low.
My laptop only has one RAM slot.
But the SPD tab is blank. Both slots show blank information.



This RAM originally came with the laptop and there's no information at all.

I have another laptop with two RAM slots. Both are occupied but the 2nd slot is a new RAM and CPUZ only shows that RAM information in the SPD tab in Slot #1, Slot #2 is blank like this.
Is this normal for laptops?

I googled for solutions and most solutions I come across are people downloading the newer version of CPUZ. Mine is the most recent version so there's no issue in that.
What I'm worried is that the manufacturer might have questionable hardware to manufacture this laptop and it doesn't let 3rd party software to read the information. Is that possible?

The reason I installed and ran CPUZ is because my laptop is pretty slow for its spec. (Core i7, Geforce gt 750M, 4 gig ram) It has frequent lagging and loading times to do normal tasks like scrolling in Chrome and opening folders, accessing files, launching programs, etc.

The SPD tab in Aida is also blank.

Yes in fact it does have an on board memory. Just now I opened up the laptop to swap ram from my other laptop and discovered the ram slot is empty.
After swapping ram, my laptop can't boot. I took out the ram and it booted back up fine.

My friend said my laptop uses DDR3L ram which is low voltage ram, but the ram I'm swapping from is a normal 1.5V ram. Could that be a reason?

Thanks for the inquiry, I'll post them when I'm a little free in a while.
But to give quick answer, my laptop temp is normal. At normal usage it is barely warm at all. The hard disk has no failure or defects, I scheduled a regular defragmentation and optimization through windows tools.

I'm sorry I forgot about this thread since. My laptop uses DDR3L, and with a compatible RAM it works fine.
