Madhouse is closed...? What? I thought they are still doing Highschool of The Dead and also Supernatural the Animation for 2011.

According to this link, the release for BLACK LAGOON Roberta's Blood Trail 002 is delayed until 30th September 2010.

PS: there's even an orbituary for the recently deceased Satoshi Kon ( sad.gif ) on their official webpage - updated on 25th August 2010, which is yesterday...

What guest meant by close down is Pioneer. It is shame because I do like the company's stuff a lot.

Pioneer? Pioneer Entertainment?

Pioneer Entertainment had ceased to exist since 2003 though. Was bought up by Dentsu and renamed Geneon Entertainment which was sold again last year to Universal Pictures Japan and renamed again as Geneon Universal Entertainment Japan which is really quite 'mouth-ful'...

PS: Anyway, that was a big turning point though, well, my hope was high, back then.

I followed the event quite closely through the internet - I figured that since Universal Pictures Japan is directly under NBC Universal's Universal Pictures International aka UPI and UPI actually has a sole distributor in Malaysia which is Berjaya HVN, so with Geneon (aka Pioneer) Entertainment being merged under Universal Pictures Japan, thus by connecting all the dots, we should be able to actually get Geneon's (or Pioneer's library of Animes) stuff from UPI by going through HVN...

But, oh well, I guess I was just too naive... whistling.gif

I think the problem is, for anime marketeers, Malaysia is considered too small a market. They prefer places like Singapore where high income customers are more readily available. Afterall most Malaysians do not understand the concept of buying original to support the industry at all so why the studio should be bothered?

Yeah, my thought exactly... ~Sigh. It's a shame though...
