QUOTE(RyanAtwood @ Jul 25 2014, 06:03 AM) Wilshere's evolution has stagnated Its the british media that often love to put their youth on a pedestal, now its always going to be players fault for failing to live up to the hype.I prefer to let the manager and the player themselves to judge their own performance. Personally for me, I think Wilshere injuries been impeding his progress that sees his other mates like Gibbs and Ramsey leapfrog him. I think we have yet to see his full potential. But he definitely got the english engine in his soul. Gritty, determined and a rough gem. |

So its just the runor mill churning bullshit on a daily basis again.
I really don't wish to see Jenkinson be sold away. He was a good cover when Sagna was away injured. He had wayy better crosses which gaveSagna the pressure to improve his crosses too. Before Jenkinson arrived, Sagna's crosses were horrid, often end up hitting a few sattelite orbiting UK. He's definitely not a complete player, but the potential is there and he definitely bleed Gunners. The very least is to loan him out to improve himself, but don't sell him away. |

QUOTE(Coin2decide @ Jul 30 2014, 09:43 AM) Everybody loves to hear signings that involves the front forward department, but I'm echoing other Gunners thought that we need signings for DM and CB.Last season despite lacking enough striker, we makeshift the shortcomings with goals supplied by our wingers and midfielders, but our weakest department has always been our defences. Its a welcoming signings if Wenger indeed bring in another striker, but I'm content if we don't. But DM is a big priority right now. |

I like Bellerin plays. Very comfortable with the ball and composed.
The moment we substitute majority of our players on the pitch, we lose our advantage. Yes, our first teamers coming in are individually awesome, but the starters had good teamwork going on. Even after our fifth goal, we still look potent for more. Once Ramsey and a few others went off, there was almost no penetration up front bar a few shots. I guess Benfica also were doing damage control by tightening up their defences. Arsenal's future does look bright indeed from the likes of our young prospects. I'm looking forward to see them get something from These Mickey Mouse cups. |

QUOTE(Mie @ Aug 3 2014, 08:15 AM) I truly miss players with penetrating runs towards defenders.Reminds me a lot of Luis Figo. Last time we had Adrey Arshavin doing that when he joined us, but then he no longer was interested and just kept passing the ball around instead of breaking the defence. Hopefully Joel Campbell won't lose that flair in the long run. Sometimes I do feel that our Arsenal wengerball impede the type of attack that fancy these type of players. The first half was so much entertaining to watch. Maybe Benefica was very soft with their defences and teams like Arsenal can exploit that kind of kindness which allows our passing game to bloom without much resistance. Despite their young age, I don't see them as youngsters in the pitch. They played with intent, focused and obviously aware of their team mates on the pitch. Really looking forward to see them play more often this season. |

To be honest, there's none of the top 5 teams are worth to be ridiculed at.
Chelsea might have their old guards replaced, but they've strengthen their teams with a few good signings...heck, Drogba alone makes me shiver. Man City being Man City, they have world class striker in Aguero and squad depth as deep as their wallet is. Liverpool seem to be somewhat 'weakened' due to their loss to Suarez, but any experienced team in EPL can tell that whatever challenges comes to a club will only make them more determined to prove anyone wrong. Plus, I'm impressed with how Brendan Rodgers manage the team. If they can continue playing like last season, I don't see why they don't deserve to win a few trophies. As for Man Utd, last season was a total disaster, but looking at the bright side they only need to focus on FA Cup and the league. That's quite a massive advantage over us UCL teams. If only I can stand their fan's annoying arrogance and antics, I could probably shower some praises over their new genius manager, but they have all the British media to suck up to their asses all season long. Frankly, they can all go eat shit. |

QUOTE(tkh_1001 @ Aug 5 2014, 03:57 PM) http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/footbal...ve-9647631.html Is this article seriously writing this? Finally Liverpool win a player over us For a reason QUOTE Manquillo is believed to have picked Liverpool over Arsenal after the arrival of Mathieu Debuchy, who will undoubtedly be first choice at the Emirates next season, and Calum Chambers who can play in a number of positions. QUOTE(dagnarus @ Aug 5 2014, 06:12 PM) LOL. Totally agreed.1. Much stronger? I think they are a bit stronger, much is a bit of a stretch considering they did not really reinforce their squad. Ask any MU supporter, and they long for a few addition to the squad. They lack any participation in Europe, so they would be much fresher for the assault on the league... but this is something that LVG has never ever faced before with his prior clubs. This is a league, where everyone can win against anyone. With Ajax, Bayern and Barcelona, these are the the dominating team in their respective league, Man Utd used to be in the same league. However the game has changed with the arrival of oil oligarches.... 2. Bogey team? Absolutely. Arsenal macam got some mental block vs them, which I though would be gone once AF is gone, but its still there.... 3. Pass through MU? Not really, if fail vs them, but win against the rest, we'll still win anyway. Although, I would love for us to do one or two over them 4. This is going to be a very interesting season no doubt about it. Consistency would be key to winning the league. Hard to explain, but I guess there's no denying that Man Utd always seem to step up playing against us despite in a losing form. I'm not too bothered though since if we can convincingly win the other games, we should be able to top the table nonetheless. |

Alisher Usmanov says Arsenal are starting a new era 'where we win trophies'
QUOTE Alisher Usmanov has revealed that he has still never spoken to Stan Kroenke since the two billionaires began their battle for control of Arsenal seven years ago but that he believes the club are now finally ready to deliver a new era of trophy-winning success. SOS JALENIn his first newspaper interview about Arsenal since 2011, Usmanov has outlined how the nine-year trophy drought could have been averted, how he has always been ready to inject funds into the club and stressed that he has never had any intention of selling the 30 per cent stake that still makes him the second highest shareholder. Yet as Arsenal prepare for Sunday’s Community Shield against Manchester City, Usmanov has also delivered his most enthusiastic endorsement of the club’s current direction and is adamant that Arsène Wenger can again win the Premier League title. “The club is very well placed to succeed,” says Usmanov. “I think we begin a new era for Arsenal where we win trophies. That is most important for football. In my opinion, in line with the existing rules, the club has the correct decision-making process in place, including their selection policy, especially now, when they have the means to buy the best players.” Those leading players, of course, include Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez, respectively purchased over the past year from Real Madrid and Barcelona for a combined £75 million. The great frustration for Usmanov, however, is that he believes Arsenal could also have maintained a squad full of world-class players over the past decade if the club’s directors had pursued a different strategy. This was laid bare in an open letter to the board in 2012, just as Arsenal sold their captain Robin van Persie to Manchester United, when Usmanov and business partner Farhad Moshiri outlined their “deep reservations” about the club’s direction. They even warned that Wenger’s minimum target of Champions League qualification was in danger. A central point was that Arsenal had some of the wealthiest shareholders in football at the same time as a restrictive debt that peaked at £318 million following the construction of the Emirates Stadium. “I think that Arsenal’s planning was based on acquiring the new stadium, a decision taken by the previous owners,” Usmanov says. “The acquisition was financed with debt, which would be repaid through match-day revenues among other sources. There is another way of doing it: when shareholders buy all of the assets and contribute them to the club. As a result, these debt-free assets may generate income for the club. It is always up to the shareholders to choose which model to adopt. Its nice to hear some good comments from the viewpoint of the major shareholder, especially one like Usmanov. He may not be the Board's favourite member, but always share the same opinion with the rest of the fans most of the time. And like the rest of us, we now share the same optimistic views on what the prospect of Arsenal going to be over the horizon. New shirt deal, no more debts, decent team depths and my favourite, our ability to attract world class players and the capacity to afford them. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

Wish him all the best at Barcelona.
Its not about the team, but because Vermaelen has so much potential to be a better player. Itsnice to know that he is going to another league to ply his trade, because I feel that Barca need a fighter like Vermaelen. Just hope that he doesn't attract anymore fouls than he did here. Farewell oh Captain Verminator. |

QUOTE(aladdin @ Aug 10 2014, 08:45 AM) You wanna make sure that when selling your players, never undervalue them in any way.For $15 million pounds, that shows that Arsenal rate TV5 very highly despite the lack of appearances, thus helping the player maintaining his value in the market. As for Barca, an investment that high would tell them to play TV5 more often than just a mere benchwarmer if they want the money to worth anything. Everybody wins, no? |

QUOTE(damnself @ Aug 10 2014, 02:06 PM) I'm not siding Nasri but no way he said in the article that Arsenal fan is stupid. Media really twist his word really bad. I can only found that he said "the amount of abuse he received is stupid". Yup, only expect the media to stir things up just before a game, and what better to do that than to strike a chord on every Arsenal fans. Everyone hates British journalism, but Nasri takes a big chunk of that. However, I do realize that what Nasri says is an honest answer about how professional footballers need to prioritize themselves over such a thing as loyalty and contention with mediocre pay. At this point, its useless to ponder on a has-been and focus on our own team. |

QUOTE(Scrambler @ Aug 11 2014, 12:07 PM) Anyone notice Sanchez was not speed enough different when him at Barca? quite slow plak tengok semalam.. Often the hero only shows 10% of his power before the actual battle takes place.Even then he'll only use 40% to take out the minions before launching his full 100% capacity against final boss. For the final strike, expect to see 110% with Sanchez hair turning from black to golden shimmer. This was Sanchez earlier days as a toddler. ![]() |

Dortmund and Bayern under strained relationship after Bayern CEO showing fresh interest on signing Reus as early as next season. The obvious past incidents with Dortmund players constantly being lured to Bayern...the likes of Gotzé, Lewandowsky, etc.
I think Arsenal should be the peacemaker between these two german clubs by allowing Reus to have his wish of playing alongside his idol Rosicky asap. That way, everyone is happy! |
