Preaching others to do good is pointless because man is inherently selfish, this is why religions exist. Men of religion must hold themselves to higher standards and not resort to spreading distrust, because so many depend on their sermons and teachings to get by the difficult days.

I have always maintained that religion was created as a sort of moral guide. When populations became larger and more advanced in ways of thinking and discovery, old traditions and taboos were no longer sufficient, hence the need for secular laws.
