Just wanna ask, if I use TR HR-05 SLI/IFX to replace my stock northbridge heatsink, but without attach a 80mm fan on it, is that good to cool down the northbridge's temperature?

its for sale at the moment, but well never really checks temp on NB coz my mobo doesnt have temp sensor on the NB. By the way its good enough to support as a GC cooler for my hd2600xt on stock speeds. Its decent enough

may i asked, did u compare ur temp. with and without da evercool serpent? if so wats da temp?

my 680iSLI is 69C-70C stock cooler.

damn hro5 dont have stok atm.

For ur 680i SLI, i'll suggest u to get the DFI's Heat-Minator if it's not push pin mounting, coz the HR05 will still not perform as good as the DFI Heat-minator.

Schweet northbridge cooler.
However, there's a weakness on the connection between the base of the heatsink and the heatpipe, which is the same as Evercool Serpent northbridge cooler.

If you think this northbridge heatsink is good, look at the post number 952 below.
You'll be surprised.

Main weakness of DeepCool NBridge 8:

Look carefully then you'll notice.
But then, with the price of RM50, what do you expect? laugh.gif

It's full copper summore. smile.gif
This northbridge heatsink will outperform Evercool Serpent for sure.

But if compare with HR-05, HR-05 IFX & NC-U6, no one knows.

My P5N-D NorthBridge Chipset seem to be very hot. It is sooo hot that you can't bear to touch it with your hand even the included fan attached to it and at full speed ~3600rpm the main heat is from this chip. Is there any aftermarket cooling that can fir this chipset coz from the pic above, you can see the mounting hole is far apart not like any other chipset. sad.gif

Is this thing can fit on it? Is it so good? Look fancy though...

busta_dude, for the love of God, do not use that CM Blue Ice, it's crappy.
I'm serious.

If you want something better grab that Deepcool NBridge 8 i've posted above from lehteck, it'll only cost you RM50 for a new unit, then find some way to fit a 60MM fan on it. Be it by using double sided tape or some cable ties.
However, please check the speed of the fan first, find a low speed fan, a high speed fan will only make the heatsink perform worse.

I can fit a Noctua NC-U6 & Thermalright HR-05 IFX on my previous EVGA 680i SLi Rev. A1 which has the same mounting measurement as your board. I'm not sure either the Deepcool NBridge 8 would fit, but you can try. smile.gif
