first it's a fanless heatsink laugh.gif

second they design it with no what so ever method to mount a fan on it laugh.gif i mean on it, not near it laugh.gif

The MC21 is a small aluminum heatsink designed to cool surface mount components such as mosfets. The product was tailored to fit the VCore mosfets on nVidia's G80 series graphics cards, but it can also be installed on motherboards mosfets, and any other IC application where passive cooling is desired.

It is a perfect companion to our VGA water-blocks and allows high-end graphic cards to operate cool and in virtual silence.

Good information, E-J@1! Thank you for the website link!

I just afraid if applying these heatsink such as the Swiftech MC21 Mosfet Heatsink can void the mainboard's warranty?

By the way, how I can obtain the Swiftech product aforementioned? Maybe Rlhh can help me because he is organizing Bulk Buying from online stores in USA?

bout the warranty thingy i dunno, but u can just take the heatsink off if wanna RMA, if u don't take it off, don't expect the heatsink will still be there laugh.gif maybe they take it for good nod.gif they wouldn't know bout it if u took it off anyway laugh.gif

as for where to get, i think there is one forumer whose organizing Swiftech bulk, why don't u give him a PM laugh.gif ask whether he can bring the heatsink or not laugh.gif

Hi,

I am wondering, there are some mobos that only come with one chipset heatsink while there are some that comes with 2.What are the difference? Is that what we call northbridge and southbridge if there is 2 of those heatsink there? This is because i am using a gigabyte mobo now that only have one chipset heatsink but i have seen some pictures of DFI mobos that comes with 2.Is there any difference and should i be using 2 aftermarket chipset cooler or i can leave one of them using the stock one?Thanks...
*
northbridge & southbridge, all mobo must have a northbirdge heatsink. the southbridge, depends la, some mobo got, some mobo don't...

what's the difference, nothing, just one got heatsink & another don't, that's all laugh.gif

u can leave the southbridge using the stock heatsink nod.gif

if im not wrong, the northbridge produces more heat. thus it needs a bigger hsf to facilitate the amount of heat released smile.gif
*
yup, if u are into OCing, better change the stock heatsink, if not into OCing, can use the stock one as the manufacturer is confident enough in their product to use only the stock heatsink...

makes me wonder how giga silent pipe perform???

QUOTE(akachester @ Mar 7 2007, 06:49 PM)
O..ok.Does this mean that it is not neccessary to change the stock HSF on the southbridge even though i am into OCing compared to the northbridge?I only have a NB cooler rite now and still considering whether it is necessary to get another for the SB.
*
if i'm not mistaken, even u're into OCing, not need to change the southbridge laugh.gif it ain't gonna get hot like northbridge, hell, all heatsink outhere are made for northbridge, if u rajin, find a southbridge cooler, all of them like the stock heatsink, no one makes heatpipe tech for southbridge like northbirdge nod.gif

Red - Graphic Card in Crossfire Mode

Blue - Chipset ( this chipset damn hot @@ and i been thinkin till now ... how to cool it down ... )

Green - Chipset ( ok ok la the heat )

i already bought Thermalright Chipset Cooler HR-05 SLI/IFX but when i mount the cooler and put the GC ... the cooler will block PCI-E Power Connector to the GC ... zZz .. any idea ?? is there smaller chipset cooler that effective ... no1 selling EnzoTech oo ?? T_T

main heat is on Blue Box Chipset ... damn hot sleep.gif

why don't u try mounting the HR-05 SLI/IFX 3 o'clock?

but by doing this u can't use the mobo stand off screw below the heatsink
