Usually it depends on the size of the packaging. At least from my experience. If it's small packaging, then most likely no tax.Photography The Sony Alpha Thread V60, From A to E mount!

QUOTE(awiekupo @ Aug 23 2014, 10:05 PM) like that arr... I don't think so because I bought computer parts worth of RM10XX from Europe (Slovenia) but it's in a small packaging (small box), and I didn't need to pay customs tax. A list of items & how much they cost also included. So customs know the price of the items in the package.coz one of my fren told me anything over RM500 (including shipping fee) will be tax by custom... and another one told me that camera/camera accessories is tax free item.. as usual, confuse mode.. I tried to check this in customs website but the site is confusing. I was trying to look for list of taxable items. I'm pretty confident if it's in a small packaging, you most likely don't need to pay customs tax. BTW, if you use courier like DHL Express for example, they will pay tax for you & you'll need to pay DHL after that before they can send/release the package to you. |

Personally, after spending a lot for the camera, I wouldn't use anything than original parts.
Unless if I rich. If I rich then I wouldn't mind using 3rd party battery because if anything happen I just buy new camera. Then again, since I'm so rich, why bother 3rd party battery, I would just buy original battery. If I'm just make minimum or medium wage, then I wouldn't use 3rd party battery because if anything happen to the camera, I would not be able to buy new one. So, 3rd party...no thank you. |

QUOTE(DonDropUrSoap @ Sep 2 2014, 12:43 AM) i wan ask how to shoot slo mo video on a6000 The way I'd done it is by recording @1080p 60p then using video editor like Adobe Premier, slow down the video to 40%. Then you'll get nice slo-mo video.i see review from thecamerastore tv, they can shoot slo-mo in 1080p 60p, half speed is it if my frame rate put 60, i hv to my shutter speed to 1/120 and above? i go google the method, tried it but no slow down of the video This post has been edited by kizwan: Sep 2 2014, 12:52 AM |

QUOTE(feathakim @ Sep 9 2014, 03:20 PM) i want to ask again hehe..about video format.. According to dpreview, a6000 sold in PAL market will have 50/25/24p selectable. Are you sure it's not NTSC 60i instead? That would means 30FPS because each field is only half of a frame.PAL vs NTSC... i guess Malaysia using PAL right? and my DSLR was setting using PAL also (never check before this lol) then when i setting my a6000,,i realize why PAL on a6000 only 50fps? but NTSC 60fps? can someone explain?tq |

QUOTE(HaN18 @ Sep 10 2014, 01:48 PM) If you're clumsy and rough I don't think lens filter can protect the lens from damage. Filter can protect the lens from dust, dirt & scratches but I doubt it will protect the lens from rough handling. I think lens hood provide better protection than lens filter, especially with rough handling. |

Just that although biased towards Sony system, still taking in other systems for consideration. I think it's the OM-D EM10, Around 1100 or 1200 SGD for two kit lens, 14-42 and 40-150, free 45mm f1.8. Nothing is confirmed yet Not much emergency matters also la... No car, no house, just to keep some spare money incase I need it. If need medical aid then back M'sia lo. Yeah of course won't rush to buy. Will give around 2 months to make decision. QUOTE(saigetsu @ Sep 24 2014, 12:15 PM) I'm using photobucket & flickr. Flickr pretty much new account. I created it because they keep EXIF info. However, not long after that I found out photobucket also keep EXIF info. |

I agree. I'm still not done with my kit lens. I'm still have a lot of "things" to try. Right now, if I am going to buy new lens, I'll be buying telephoto lens, most likely 200mm or 300mm.

QUOTE(Calvin Seak @ Sep 29 2014, 05:32 PM) I think it is fine.. depending on what you are using the picture for? Thanks for the comments. I was testing the camera in low light room with high ISO. See what the camera can do. If you're printing it and do not want the noise just use softwares to reduce the noise but definitely the details will be lost to, can't have the best of both worlds eh? When I first started photography, noise was my main concern, now it is the least concerned for me, when you have good light, noise will not be there |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Oct 9 2014, 03:14 AM) Condition? Just so you're clear, normal "wireless" flash isn't really "wireless" at all - it depends on "preflash" signals (or IR beams, depending on tech used) from the commander flash (or in the case of my old A200, the build in flash) to tell the "slave" (off-camera flash) what to do. Yup, 2.4GHz wireless can overcome the limit of infrared. Wireless is wireless whether it uses 2.4GHz or IR or AM/FM radio. In this case, like all other optical slave flash, the "slave" must be in a position where it could see the signals coming from the commander, which means both flashes must be within line of sight - or at least in a position where it could "see" the preflash signals. I *think*. I'm a bit rusty on this so I might be wrong so please correct me if I am. If you want to overcome that limitation you will need: a) A radio transmission system (like phottix or cactus). b) A long hotshoe-hotshoe cable, or pc-sync if your flash supports it. |
