wanna ask question regarding on CWM

I check on Miui site , i found CWM 6.0.3.2 , CWM r7 Final , CWM6.0.5.0....

question is, which one is the latest ? CWM r7 ? or 6.0.5.0
any one got use these version ? so far stable ?


Does this CWM come with root function? the stable rom root function been disable.


and last. this new version CWM support the lastest stable rom and developer rom Kit Kat ?

Just update from v14 to v22 by download the full pack and install by using updater (stock recovery)

Found Out below changers :
1) Mi Boot up Logo more orange color with Android Logo & less animation (I prefer the old one)

2) Reboot the phone previously was show Jelly Bean logo with a loading bar , now is just a round arrow

3) Setting --> About Phone menu
i) New row : Build Number
ii) New baseband number
iii) New Kernal version
iv) New Android version 4.4.2
v) tap few time Build Number , you will be allow into Developer mode
vi) tap few time New Android Version 4.4.2 will bring you Kit Kat 4.4.2 Red logo

4) Settings --> About Phone --> Status
i) Mobile Network State : Disconnected (I not sure why)

5) Settings --> Wifi
i) got one new row XiaoMi Router Notification switch

6) Settings --> Location
i) Interface changed - Got 3 Mode : High Accuracy ; Battery Saving ; Device Only
ii) Shows recent Location request list
iii) Shows Google Location Reporting
iv) I am using Papago, i found that really hard to get GPS signal when indoor, v14 firmware more easier.
Outdoor is ok ( i think maybe the barometer is not working or something)

7) Settings --> Battery
i) Power Settings now only got High Performance or Balance (Default) , maximum saving option no longer here.

8) Voice Search Icons on Home screen

9) Exchange Email
i) on Version 14, when forward email the "Send on xx/xx/xxxx (date) , xx:xx (time)" row will missing, this new firmware 22 fixed the bug
ii) New Email arrive icon had changed

Overall review
1) Reboot / Boot up slower then v14
2) I dun like the Boot Up Mi Logo , i more prefer the old Animated Mi Logo
3) Machine abit lag when done boot up that time. After that back to normal

Issue that other forum user facing
1) Crash on Google Play - Mine working fine. I had test download antutu x using google play, no crash during download.

2) Instagram issue - I never use it, so i not sure.

PS : I am using Global Rom which download from Miui --> Malaysia WCDMA
Also the Antutu Benchmark v5.0 Beta 1 show :
40322 Point on High Performance Battery
29184 Point on Balance Performance

By the way, i just flash only, i din delete cache or anything

Agree, real world usage is totally different then score show on the apps.

I think got related to what you install in the phone as well.

Agree ! I from Sony to Xiaomi ( i support sony phone since few model back before i come to xiaomi )

What i can say is, no phone is perfect. Each got their own pros and cons, some firmware good but hardware sucks, some reverse, and you can't compare much, as long as budget ok, the function you always use is there that's the important point.

I quite like Sony's build in camera (but new firmware update causes the camera focus sucks) , bravia engine display and their water resistance function... but.... because of 18month firmware update policy thats why XDA come out a bunch of freelance firmware developer to came out new firmware to fully utilise the phone function even got lots of bug but many user are happy with the 3rd party firmware but some are suffer as well.

Some Model never receive any firmware update until they obsolete, at lease xiaomi have 2 choice for you. Stable Rom or Every Friday update developer rom for you to choose.

now got v23

OTA shows nothing, gonna go miui site download

hmm miui still show v22 firmware.... =_=

where you guys get the v23 ?

by the way, you can check Settings --> About Phone --> Update --> Click the V23 firmware, it will show the changelog

The V22 rom i download from miui.com --> Malaysia Stable rom which is miui_MI3WGlobal_KXDMIBF22.0_25dcac4421_4.4.zip

maybe macam FedEx UPS , lambat sampai kut....

or maybe Security there block or something.
