yes. you know the widget to release memory on home screen, it shows 78-86% on my phone. before this around 60% only.

QUOTE(deadravel @ Jul 23 2014, 11:30 AM)
updated. same as before.really dint nth much diff

so..not an issue there. free memory = wasted memory.
juz let it be.
unless ur phone really LAGs. then got problem la.
no LAG no problem good phone good life  cool2.gif
*
true. there's no noticeable lag so far, but I hope it won't affect my phone in the future.

this should not be a problem biggrin.gif

i think 78-86% is OK for MIUI. since it does not LAG
my mi3 can reach as high as 95% used memory.
but still doesnt LAG doing normal stuff(online, browsing,fb,insta, whatsapp)

unless i really wan to play graphical GAME. then i would clear the memory first. cool2.gif

I wonder...will this latest stable Kitkat version force the Maxis users to give up their Maxis line and jump to other telcos so that they can utilize the Kitkat rom? I know this sound crazy, but I think this is possible....

Wait..

Did Xiaomi renamed the whole ROMs for countries besides China to be the same (ie: KXDMIBE18.0)?
rclxub.gif

I guess they're really following Apple footsteps as it'll be faster to roll out updates but they seriously need to beef up the dev team, too many bugs early on rclxub.gif

Dev ROM any better than conventional ROM? Or the other way around?

I found out that there's dual system boot in the Mi3? When I was in the recovery, I was given the option to choose boot to system 1 or system 2

i think they probably abandoned xiaomi altogether and buy different phone, because not everyone tech savvy enough
to downgrade the firmware.

yes, after this the release for other countries will be the same for all. They called it international version.

Yes. I already mentioned it yesterday that KXDMIBE18.0 is actually a Global update. I really hope that they will release a kitkat rom based on Malaysia rom. But I think this is nearly impossible now since Xiaomi wants to follow Apple's footsteps. Xiaomi used to be famous due to its caring towards fans' need. Hopefully this new move won't ruin the Xiaomi fans' loyalty to the brand.

pros:
1. dev rom have the latest update (1 week 1 OTA update)
so u can try out the latest feature they roll out everyweek
2. dev rom is pre-rooted. u juz need to enable root permission at security app
3. dev rom gets more themes to choose from (many forumers claims this)

cons:
1. not stable. in terms of bugs. and mayb some apps will crash

----
dual boot is build into miui recovery.
to use or not is ur own preference . cool2.gif
u can flash 1 system with dev rom and keep 1 with stable rom.
and swap around the system to play with.

I prefer Dev Rom as it's rooted & i need root access for few apps laugh.gif

Yes, it has 2 systems which consumes a bit space but gives you a sense of calm because in case anything happened (ie: bad installation), then can revert back to last working config

Good strategy, streamlining the ROM for 1 version only but the bugs.. doh.gif

But seems like two same versions of stable Rom was installed on both system. (Tried booting into system 2 just now) Does this take up a lot of space I wonder? How can I clear it to save up space?

it's dual boot for system bro, not dual boot for ROMs laugh.gif

Same like Recovery in Windows where you revert back to last working config but in MIUI, it's already saved in system memory & ready to boot on the go cool2.gif
