An alternative is to sign up for FB Beta app, similar to Dev Rom concept, always have updates first when there are issues.

v18 is kitkat, u need other root file. TS need to update his post.

why not just upgrade to dev rom which come with root permission ?

i finally upgrade to dev rom, love the online baidu music function, and GPS is fine in wether locate, sms to short code also being solve, battery also looking good now too ..

for those who encounter issue,. best is FULL WIPE and clean flash a rom,..

the situation like this. 2 of the mikey on mi3 when set press 1 time to open wechat. when press 1 time. it will not go directly into wechat.
it will on the screen but will need u to swipe to unlock first, then only will launch wechat.

on the other 2 mi3 when press it will on the screen directly into wechat app. it will skip lock screen. noneed swipe to unlock first.

i wan it directly into wechat app . skip the lock screen.

No lah ! need to go to Setting - Developer option - enable developer option - enable skip screen lock.

i am looking for a phone for the next 3 years of my student life. Is the xiaomi mi 3 recommended? only for basic uses, most important is that it wont die on me in 3 years.

Maybe can pin most common voice commands to use with Google Launcher because I noticed the sound recognition is better than in my Nexus
Like if set at 7.30am,it will wake up at 7.32am

If not detected, make sure voice search is enabled in Google Search settings.

If always error, saying one thing but comes out another, just retrain voice recognition, also in settings.

Using Google Now Launcher on my mi3, likes the smoothness and UI very much. Just 1 complain though. The left most capacitive button, the 1 dat we hold to open up the RAM cleaner thingy.

Whenever i hold it, Google Now Launcher will immediately zoom out and enter the edit home screen mode. Kinda annoying. I just wanna clear some RAM, but everytime I do it, it auto zoom out and enter the edit home screen mode.

V22 stable rom rooting method is still the same? Can use the method in the first page?

Hi guys, i quite not understand the instruction on how to root eventhough I've read several rooting guide thread. from the first page rooting guide,

"For the ROOT, we need to have:
1. The stable firmware (Mi3-WCDMA/CDMA or Mi3-WCDMA HK) installed in the 1st system of the smartphone. "

Question; Am I need to download  and flash firmware Mi3-WCDMA/CDMA or Mi3-WCDMA HK first before continue with the step below?

Steps to get the ROOT:
1. Download the first script (1_MI3_WCDMA_stable_root.zip) on the phone, rename it to update.zip, place it in the root of the card.
2. Load in mi-recovery and flash it as normal firmware in the 1st partition without wipe, it takes 10-30 seconds.
3. Load in the first system.
4.  Goin into the program and Permissions include ROOT.
5. Profit!

what i want is, i just want to have root permission, and keep stable build v22. it is possible? I root xperia neo & n7000 before, but i dont understand mi3 rooting guide
