QUOTE(sphiroth @ Jul 24 2014, 05:31 PM) Seems like v18 for Malaysia has been taken down and replaced back with v14 (Miun site). But for Singapore, its still v18. Most probably the problem with drop call lies with the Telco (maxis). Indeed. Even the mod in Malaysia local section (Miui forum) already removed the Kitkat changelog thread. Instead, he replaced the thread with the new feedback thread and told the maxis users to report in, so that the dev team can gather information to modify the Kitkat rom. http://en.miui.com/thread-29754-1-1.htmlhere what he said (Do notice the bold sentence): QUOTE This problem affects users who upgrade their Mi3 ROM to KitKat. We realize that something in the ROM which is not compatible with Maxis 3G. A few users already reported this issue to Maxis and trust me, Maxis will do nothing to solve this issue, so what we do now is, we need to modified some scripts in the ROM to make it compatible with Maxis 3G network.

We are talking about the recent problem on Global rom V18. but he keeps telling people to upgrade to Stable Rom V21, which is a China rom and only suits for TD version, that we already know, is not meant for Malaysia (WCDMA). http://en.miui.com/download-101.html#163This post has been edited by Max2006: Jul 25 2014, 10:43 AM

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Jul 25 2014, 10:51 AM) guys is there a thread teach how to differentiate fake piston earphone? i order from ebay macam fake here you go. Provided by bro deadravel https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=68872309And some tips for me who bought a fake one once. QUOTE Look at the sticker on the box. The item should be 12g (the fake one and Piston 1.0 will say 11g instead) The power will be 5mW (the 1.0 version got only 2mW) The real one got 16 ohm. The fake one would say 12 ohm instead. And the sticker would be pasted nicely. The fake one would paste the sticker "senget". This post has been edited by Max2006: Jul 25 2014, 11:03 AM

QUOTE(KannaSai1 @ Jul 25 2014, 02:10 PM) still ok for me. can get LTE 4G Bro, it's ok to show off the casing and the appearance of your new toy. But please la. At least you should know about the limit of your phone. Mi3 mana ada LTE 4G. If got 4G, the amount of MI3 users would increased tremendously and we would have reached thread V20 by now.

QUOTE(loneboy62 @ Jul 25 2014, 02:56 PM) Good afternoon everybody, did anyone aware that Maxis or XiaoMi will fix the drop call problem? If not I am going to revert back to previous version. A Malaysian mod in miui forum promised that the dev team is working on it. Since maxis won't do anything on their side, the current kitkat rom is pretty much useless now (for maxis users) and you will need to change to other rom for now, until the next new rom is release. QUOTE(Alexsensational @ Jul 25 2014, 03:32 PM) btw hor, why i using sony earpiece, also can use all the different mode (such as general earbuds, in-ear headphone, piston, and so on)? Or is it using piston onli can test the real piston mode ? No matter what kind of earphone you are using, you could apply it on any different mode. It's just that the result would be different for each type of earphone. Just choose the mode that suit your hearing preference then it would be all good. QUOTE(briantwj @ Aug 6 2014, 10:13 PM) maybe off topic a bit, but wanna ask bout xiaomi's piston. My fren bought the piston 2.0 from here. He said it's original and cost him RM69. Really tempting, now thinking wanna buy 1 for myself anot. Any1 here bought from the seller below before? Is it really ori? i Distribution (M) Sdn. Bhd. Sales Office: Lot 1-001 (i), 1st Floor (Mobile Circuit Zone) PLAZA LOW YAT SHOPPING CENTER 7, Jalan Bintang, Off Jalan Bukit Bintang Central 55100 Kuala Lumpur lelong pageHard to say. They didn't put the real pics of the piston on their site. They also put the wrong advertising pics to promote the item since the IF version piston was already discontinued. And the availability qty of the item..29999!? The best way is to look at your friend's piston, do some researches on the internet and do comparisons, see if its geniune.

After reading a few reviews, finally flashed to V22 stable rom.
So far so good. Stock camera's focus is much better compared to V14. Battery usage is slightly better. And the phone doesn't get heat easily like it used to.
Only 1 problem. It seems that when I am playing the music using the stock music app, the music would have a small glitch whenever I go to the setting and browsing through the song list. It didn't happen in V14.

Spent some times to read through the recent threads in miui forum, and found the reason why they removed the Power saving mode from the latest update. http://en.miui.com/thread-29570-1-1.htmlQUOTE( meredithhan) Hi guys, many of you have noticed that Power saving mode is gone in Mi 3, and Mi 2/2S users are having FC with it.
The devs will remove it from all officially supported devices gradually.
The reason for this action is that Power saving mode is to optimized CPU power consumption, and it could cause unstability to the sytem.
You could use the battery configuration function in Security - Power to help you save power.
Sorry for the trouble and inconvenience caused by this, and thanks for understanding. This post has been edited by Max2006: Aug 9 2014, 01:54 AM

QUOTE(jesseblue @ Aug 9 2014, 10:54 AM) Can sifus advise? I downloaded the ROM from the MIUI site and here's the filename miui_MI3WGlobal_KXDMIBF22.0_25dcac4421_4.4 The update version i downloaded from the OTA is having this filename miui_MI3WMY_KXDMIBF22.0_25dcac4421_4.3 The file size is exactly the same Are these the same update? Curious about the 4.3 and 4.4 releases though What android version you are using currently? Are you using 4.3 JB? If yes, then it could be the reason why the OTA version is stated as 4.3. Anyway, both of them are same. Here's got few people (including me) flashed the miui_MI3WGlobal_KXDMIBF22.0_25dcac4421_4.4 from miui site successfully. No major problem except for some minor bugs. Edit: Btw, it seems that OTA of V22 is available now for the V14 users, according to some comments in miui forum. This post has been edited by Max2006: Aug 9 2014, 11:08 AM

QUOTE(amdx @ Aug 9 2014, 01:28 PM) seriously, why so many problems leh xiaomi? i just passed the phone to my dad (downgraded to v14, due to v18 issues)... now v22 (i suppose it will pushes via OTA) oso got issues. how u expect my old folk dealing with all these firmware glitches? haiyo... my personal experience when i upgrade and downgrade to v14->v18->v14.. i think something really not going well with their firmware updater. same recovery method used, but i experienced 2 different outcome. hang at boot screen, gapps all gone (mine purchase via xiaomi malaysia) and etc. end up no choice but to flash the rom via miflash thru a pc. really hope xiaomi can buck up on the patches release process. i don't face this with sxmsung, sxny, htx nor 1+1 I guess sometimes it depends on luck. Some got problem, some are not. In order to get a piece of mind, my suggestion is to stick to the stock rom, ignore those updates. Stock rom would be enough for your daily use. I know it sounds silly to not to upgrade the firmware, but at least it saves you from the trouble of getting those bad results. Of course, the downside is you will not be able to enjoy the new features. This post has been edited by Max2006: Aug 9 2014, 02:18 PM

QUOTE(amdx @ Aug 9 2014, 02:32 PM) always keep stock bro, never flash nightly build rom. fr my dad use not me problem is, this stable stock rom OTA push u their stable update also got problem and i can't guaranteed my dad not to accidentally press the update button when the update push appear in the notification bar. lol Well bro, if that's the case, there's a "hardcore" way to disable the OTA function, which is, delete the update apk. But you will need to root the phone first. Just a little suggestion. http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/ota-disable.9539/This post has been edited by Max2006: Aug 9 2014, 03:00 PM

QUOTE(Zenobia @ Aug 9 2014, 06:30 PM) what i dont understand is; 1. Am i need to flash developer rom/other rom to root or after root? Can i just root KXDMIBF22.0 & install CWM & SU?? 2. I need to flash "The stable firmware (Mi3-WCDMA/CDMA or Mi3-WCDMA HK) installed in the 1st system of the smartphone." first, before proceed to install CWM and install SU?? It look like most of us here, rooted & flashed to developer rom. Root or not to root, it depends on which rom you are using. If you are on stable rom/stock rom, check the root permission first. If it's locked, then you need to root it. If you are on the dev rom, you don't have to root it because it's root automatically in dev rom. This post has been edited by Max2006: Aug 9 2014, 07:30 PM
