Seems like v18 for Malaysia has been taken down and replaced back with v14 (Miun site). But for Singapore, its still v18. Most probably the problem with drop call lies with the Telco (maxis).

This problem affects users who upgrade their Mi3 ROM to KitKat. We realize that something in the ROM which is not compatible with Maxis 3G. A few users already reported this issue to Maxis and trust me, Maxis will do nothing to solve this issue, so what we do now is, we need to modified some scripts in the ROM to make it compatible with Maxis 3G network.

after upgrade to kitkat android, i found 2 problems

1) always drop calls, after that need to insert sim card pin number if u have it
2) battery drain fast , suspect unwanted software running in background
any1 face these issue ?

Look at the sticker on the box.

The item should be 12g (the fake one and Piston 1.0 will say 11g instead)

The power will be 5mW (the 1.0 version got only 2mW)

The real one got 16 ohm. The fake one would say 12 ohm instead.

And the sticker would be pasted nicely. The fake one would paste the sticker "senget".

Good afternoon everybody, did anyone aware that Maxis or XiaoMi will fix the drop call problem? If not I am going to revert back to previous version.

btw hor, why i using sony earpiece, also can use all the different mode (such as general earbuds, in-ear headphone, piston, and so on)?
Or is it using piston onli can test the real piston mode ?

Pls recommend me a stable rom pls, i get drop call almost everytime i make call.. help

after i updated to latest 25/7 rom,
i get no mobile network at all.  "no service"

maybe off topic a bit, but wanna ask bout xiaomi's piston. My fren bought the piston 2.0 from here. He said it's original and cost him RM69. Really tempting, now thinking wanna buy 1 for myself anot. Any1 here bought from the seller below before? Is it really ori?

Hi guys, many of you have noticed that Power saving mode is gone in Mi 3, and Mi 2/2S users are having FC with it.

The devs will remove it from all officially supported devices gradually.

The reason for this action is that Power saving mode is to optimized CPU power consumption, and it could cause unstability to the sytem.

You could use the battery configuration function in Security - Power to help you save power.

Sorry for the trouble and inconvenience caused by this, and thanks for understanding.

I downloaded the ROM from the MIUI site and here's the filename
miui_MI3WGlobal_KXDMIBF22.0_25dcac4421_4.4

The update version i downloaded from the OTA is having this filename
miui_MI3WMY_KXDMIBF22.0_25dcac4421_4.3

The file size is exactly the same
Are these the same update? Curious about the 4.3 and 4.4 releases though

i just passed the phone to my dad (downgraded to v14, due to v18 issues)... now v22 (i suppose it will pushes via OTA) oso got issues. how u expect my old folk dealing with all these firmware glitches?

haiyo... my personal experience when i upgrade and downgrade to v14->v18->v14.. i think something really not going well with their firmware updater. same recovery method used, but i experienced 2 different outcome. hang at boot screen, gapps all gone (mine purchase via xiaomi malaysia) and etc. end up no choice but to flash the rom via miflash thru a pc.

really hope xiaomi can buck up on the patches release process. i don't face this with sxmsung, sxny, htx nor 1+1

always keep stock bro, never flash nightly build rom. fr my dad use not me problem is, this stable stock rom OTA push u their stable update also got problem    and i can't guaranteed my dad not to accidentally press the update button when the update push appear in the notification bar. lol

what i dont understand is;

1. Am i need to flash developer rom/other rom to root or after root? Can i just root KXDMIBF22.0 & install CWM & SU??

2. I need to flash "The stable firmware (Mi3-WCDMA/CDMA or Mi3-WCDMA HK) installed in the 1st system of the smartphone." first, before proceed to install CWM and install SU??

It look like most of us here, rooted & flashed to developer rom.
