With that sacrifice and the fact that they still sell about 10,000 pieces of smart phones each round, it rounds up to making them about RM 900k gross profits each time they do so. In comparison, competitors like Samsung does roadshows and advertises on billboards, magazines and takes full-page colour spreads in newspapers, which bumps up the marketing costs. Of which, it would make it harder for Samsung to compete in price. This compounds Samsung’s problems of shrinking sales as they get pounded on the premium market by Apple, and on the low-end market by Chinese handset makers. And they were using Hunger marketing strategy, which is super effective. |
