Hi girls (and lurking guys),

So I went to an island last week and got sun burned so bad. It's my fault though for not using any sun block. Wasn't expecting I will be under the sun so long.

And right now my shoulder and arms are the worst, shoulder skin is starting to peel off but the new skin underneath is still a few shades darker than my usual skin color.

My question is, will my skin color return to its original color by itself? (never got sun burned so bad before) and is there any effective whitening cream that I can use to speed up the process?

I'm using Nivea Body Milk Extra Whitening Skin Therapy now but like not much effect.

Thank you in advance for answers and suggestions!

Depends on how badly you got burnt. Most of the time I'll return to my usual skin tone but it takes like months to almost years.

Well, yeap shoulder and arm area is definitely important to be shown in order for us to judge

But of course you might wanna "expose" additional areas just for research and information purposes brows.gif brows.gif

Use Aloe Vera lotion/gel, it helps to relieve the skin irritation…

Hi girl, keep applying aloe vera gel for soothing and hydrating. On top of aloe, u can invest in l'occitane's almond milk concentrate body cream (if budget allowed). Do this everyday after shower.
It takes some time to get back to 'original' states. And not to forget to take vit c.

UPDATE:

I've been religiously using Nivea Body Milk Extra Whitening Skin Therapy every night after bath for a month now and I am seeing results!! My sun burned dark skin has got much fairer and it is noticeably few tones fairer than before.

Not sure whether it is the product that is useful or it is because my skin got back it's own original tone, but I am happy with Nivea body Milk as it smells nice and also kinda make my skin softer biggrin.gif

Sun burn depending on how severe it is.
Age does matters. If just initial, just wear long sleeve and avoid direct sunlight usually will do. No need to apply chemicals.
