I make it a point to read books I bought in entirety, including the likes of Twilight and 50 Shades of Grey. I believe I can't criticize any book legitimately without first reading them cover to cover.
Of course, you don't have to consume fecal matters to know it is shit. But how do you know for sure how they taste like without tasting them?
I don't hate anyone who can't finish books they don't like. I don't finish food I don't like too. It's just a matter of expectation: if I knew it's going to be shitty to begin with, then I'm more open to the idea of finishing it.
for me, finishing a book is critical so that when people ask you for your opinion on that particular book, i could actually explain to them whether i liked it or not. some books really tests my patience and i always force myself to finish it from cover to cover, oh the pain.Of course, you don't have to consume fecal matters to know it is shit. however, some books starts off real shitty but then it gets really good in the middle and ends with a bang! or vice versa.
so yeah, finish that book, if you like it, keep it, if not, donate the book to someone else, maybe it could be their best cup of tea!
