Hi guys,
May i ask where can i check the chasis number for honda city ? It's at the same place regardless of the specs right ?
RM 1.5k discount without any freebies, is it a good-to-go deal ?
*
On the right side of the driver's seat there is a flap on the floor carpet. open the flap to see the chassis number.

Sharing my observation for discussion:

The City doesn't seem to have a dedicated CVTF cooler. From my short study of the engine bay there seems to be a hose coming out of the gearbox and to the bottom of the radiator....possibly the CVT is watercooled? and it is sharing the same cooling circuit as the engine?

How much does it cost? So I assume it's similar to Vios whereby there is a button to press in order to fold/unfold the side mirrors? That works for me too, just that would be better if they are foldable automatically!
*
Yes, there is a button to fold the mirrors.

Getting my car next week.. btw new car can straight drive up genting or wait after 1k?
*
Just drive.

Don't speed (as in don't exceed speeds where if something fails you cannot recover safely), vary your RPM don't stay at and RPM for too long.

Most importantly, just enjoy your car.

It will be a surprise if it can be done. From my knowledge I don't think cruise control can be be install in a car that come without one.  hmm.gif
*
There are aftermarket throttle controllers with auto cruise function

http://pivotjp.com/product/3da/3da-e.html

Not sure if this particular product works for the City, though.

Matrix, Can you confirm Honda warranty cover rims?
*
Rims does not have warranty.

But if you change rims, Honda may void your suspension / steering rack / driveshaft warranty.

You can get full refund if last time you pay cash. If use credit card, then deduct RM100
*
According to hire purchase act 2012 amendment, Dealers are only required to refund 90% of your booking fee.

You can hope that you have enough goodwill with them that they will refund 100% to you.

Hi guys,

I just realised my car got a tiny rust at my bonet, I'm not sure what's the cause of it but should I send to a third party or to Honda 4S at PJ?

It's a 2 month old car! so devastating!!  cry.gif
*
- Find/Buy a can of WD40, touchup paint for your car colour,sandpaper....I dunno, 300-400 grit? Just rough enough to sand off the rust. Use your own judgement.

- clean the general area with car shampoo, wipe it dry.
- spray WD40 onto the rusted part. Let it soak for about 5-10 minutes, do not wipe.
- use a small piece of sandpaper and carefully sand off the rust. Do not apply sandpaper on your car paint, just on the rust.
- carefully wipe off the rust that you sanded out.
- After all the rust have been sanded off, wipe off the WD40 with a clean cloth.
- Use car shampoo (I use dishwashing liquid) and remove any residual WD40.
- Apply touch up paint as per the product's instructions.

Word of warning, the touched-up part will not be perfect. I do it to prevent further rust. If you want a perfect finishing you may have to send it to a detailing center.

If spoil liao outside of warranty....dun use lor icon_idea.gif

But I think most drivers seldom use the paddle shifters anyway, deswai Honda Malaysia omitted it. If said driver wanna use the paddles for sporty driving, then shouldn't buy City also lah.

all cars soon or later have one lah brother... drive highway chances higher, hit by tiny stone... unless you wax or do coating, extra layer to prevent those tiny stone hit your car paint

dont be to sad, is just like human, we grow, our skin got scar when we are hurt lol
*
coating won't protect your paint against stone chip, at most will prevent degradation of clear coat against the weather.

If don't want to deal with such heartache, plastidip or wrap your car/bonnet.

should i pay the downpayment 10% first or wait for the car allocation?

SA say must pay before car being allocated. confused.

Wait for car allocation and chassis number.

Never pay d/p without a chassis number.

can i check, after you paid the booking fee, any chance we can get it back. This is due to other branch SC can give me higher rebates.
*
QUOTE(warrencechin @ Nov 17 2014, 10:53 AM)
dont think u can get back unless u have relevant excuse
*
By law they are required to refund you a portion of it regardless of reason.

They are only allowed to keep 0.1% of the total car price from the booking fee. So if your car is RM80k, and you paid RM800 as booking fee, they can only keep RM80 (as admin fee) and refund you RM720.

If they refuse, they are breaking the law.

Downhill in N consumes more petrol than in D.

Not to mention extremely dangerous.

N= Neutral gear....lol...even more dangerous. When go downhill should avoid using brake and use lower gear to drag it. This is where S or L come into play....
*
Should use both engine braking (low gear) and footbrakes to assist each other.

Engine braking causes the engine to run lean (burning more oxygen than petrol), and running lean causes engine to run hotter.

So don't use engine braking for prolonged periods of time, it's OK to use the brakes once in a while to take the load off the engine.
