To me, coating is just a burned in wax that last longer.

Waxing - add a layer of wax to protect your car. The wax can wear off 2 to 3 months based on usage and environment effects.

Polishing - to remove the wax content/ smoothen the layer to remove swivel. After the polish process, need to wax it.

All these are my own summary of understanding Pls don't shoot me. To have a better/accurate definition. please refer to online wiki or auto page.

In your case. You can choose to tint 1st or coat 1st. To me is better tint 1st only coat. Tint will need 4 hours and coat might take 4 hours to 1 full day or 2 days.

So end up. I choose coat as it is easy to maint. after coat, just bring for normal hand wash or simple DIY hand wash with microfiber cloth.

Just want to share as b4 this I also wondering should I wax or coat or no need at all.

coating is like they take your years of waxing $ 1st, and give warranty to you (all include)

wax is like you need to manually every 3 months go waxing, this I worry what if on every waxing, they add more scratch to the surface?

and I did think of don't care at all, once on 5th years, as it damage, bring to repaint!

all costing almost the same, coat might be 2k for 5 years, wax each wax 100+(for every 1 year 4 times, 20 times for 5 years) it also ring to a total of 2k plus. For repaint, it also around 2k plus....

so far I see the most shinning coating is gdox... but not cheap man, I think it will cost 3k to 5k for the most berkelip kelip coat!!!

this got its disadvantages also. what if minor accident, they cannot repaint due to too thickness of coat. they need to remove all coat and repaint. for sure this will add extra $ to paint and recoat.

the coat shop told me, Honda local assemble car have these paint defect issue. those imported tak dak...

something to share... if you notice carefully you can see paint defect on city!!! they will circle it with some round mark!!!. I found out 3 on my bonnet!!!

Hi Ree73, my living place there got animal and wild kids in which like to scratch people car. Sometimes motorcycle cross by if the place too narrow, they will force themselves to passby and have higher chance to get scratch for a new car. Therefore, I had search for a solution into it...

hmmm, repaint every 5 years!! Or move to new place
Kidding. try to find those 12H hardness coating. but if those kid go scratch your car with metal, use stone to scratch... I don't think any coat will help on that. Maybe you can do some research on this. To me 5k to 7k coat is way too expensive 

antoehr option... install recording camera. once your car get scratch... camera will start recording... from here, you bring this info and make a police report

My place there got people do confessed they scratch people car. And even dare to say because your car park to near to my car and therefore scratch is happen. Even open door very wide and hit people's car door. Very rude people
