Tried to mod my LGA775 heatsink to fit on my X800GT... rclxms.gif

Sadly, the heatsink is too big...
It's touching the PCI-E Slot... sweat.gif

Sigh...
Thinking of using Socket 478 Prescott heatsink later on... drool.gif
The problem is, i don't have any unused Prescott Socket 478 heatsink... rclxub.gif

Or, should i use AMD heatsink? blink.gif

I still have a lot to do if i were insisting to use the LGA775 heatsink on my X800GT... sweat.gif

I have to cut a lot of things...
Right now, it's touching my PCI-E X16 Slot...

But one thing for sure, i can't use crossfire with this heatsink... laugh.gif

Hey shah...
I got one Powercolor ATI Radeon 9550 with a burnt ic... cry.gif
Can u replace it for me?

I am very sure that the only thing that makes it unuseable is because the burnt IC... sweat.gif

How do i know that ic is burnt, is by looking on the back of the card, there's an ic that has a burnt mark...

Can u do that for me?
Can u?
Can u? icon_question.gif

Ehh?
No more updates? blink.gif

Anyway...
Shah, do you know how to find the best variable resistor for my freaking fast NIDEC DELTA V?

If can, please state how to find and where to find it... icon_question.gif

And another thing, how do i connect it to the wires?
Which colour is for which pin on the variable resistor?

There are 4 wires...
Green, Yellow, Red, and Black...

Allngap said that the black and red are used for power
[Red for +VE & Black for -VE]

I've already asked allngap and he said, the extra 2 wires [Green & Yellow] is for connecting to a variable resistor to control the fan speed...

This is some information for my fan:

Well, its not like I'm voltmodding everyday smile.gif  I was expecting to see other people mods, but.................
To be honest, I don't know what value of resistance to use. Since you already asked allngap and he knows this stuff, why don't you refer to him. nod.gif

Any type of variable resistor should do, preferably the ones that looks like a volume control knob.....easy to turn laugh.gif

You can buy those variable resistor at Jln Pasar usually around RM1~RM2. A little tip.....don't say variable resistor when you ask the sales person, use the word potentiometer a.k.a volume control. laugh.gif

Easiest way to slow your fan down....use 5V or 7V rolleyes.gif
*
Potentiometer...
Noted that...
5Volts - 7Volts...

Can't do that, coz it's too slow, it's the same like i'm using my old Thermaltake Smartfan... 73CFM maybe [For 7Volts]

While on 5Volts, it's like i'm using my vantec spectrum 120MM uv led...
Too slow... sweat.gif

All i wanted to do is to mod it to run on 9Volts... rclxms.gif

Can someone help me here? icon_question.gif

Actually I have a 4.0A prototype ( brows.gif ) fan controller that I build for fun. But I never tested its full potential. Don't have any powerful fan with me. The most powerful I have is an NMB 120mm fan that suck 0.35A laugh.gif  doh.gif

But when you start playing with higher amps, the heat load gets bigger and you'll start seeing big heatsinks attach to the regulator.
