i think ure getting me wrong. what im trying to say is, dont be too serious when it comes to guild lobby match. whenever u take the fun element away and be a serious jack, it would be just a matter of time guild members will shy away from the guild lobby.

ask anyone from the lowyat guild, what happened there, too many so called pro flaming newcomers and too serious in playing lobby matches. the result is always the same. a dying guild. was it worth it?

let me give an example on kdotard guild lobby. everyone in the lobby knows its a guild lobby, and its not supposed to be serious. now dont mistake by not being serious equals to just feeding. its not. i'll take the examples of 2 most recent guild lobby that we made.

the 2nd recent lobby, someone picks riki, while she didnt even know how to play it. and it would just took her to throw one question to us: "How do i play this hero?". in no time so many ppl were giving her advice on how to play riki. no one even dared to flame or be angry to her.

the most previous lobby, which was last night, me and a fellow friend tried to do the elder titan + tinker combo. i played tinker, he played titan. in no way i am a tinker user when it comes to pub games. but since its lobby, we knew, this is the time for us to pick a hero we never dared to play in pub and ranked matches. its a chance for us to try out new heroes, to make mistakes. there were pro players in the lobby but never once they dared flame or be angry. but they were having fun, radiant side was winning at first, before they decided to tone down a bit and give dire side some room to breath.

hence, what i am trying to share is, don't be to fussy in a guild lobby. promote a fun atmosphere. don't flame the newcomers. instead, make a lobby match a chance for everyone to try out new heroes. after all, its a lobby match. not a pub or ranked game.

but if wanna ignore me. go ahead. im just throwing out some one the ways kdotard managed to be active up to this day.

Support is technically the hardest role in the game because any mistakes you make are amplified due to the lack of exp and gold. It'll teach you the most about the game in terms of dictating pace etc., but it's definitely not for new players.

In my experience, new players should start with playing carry heroes because it teaches you how to farm (efficient farming comes later on), maintain map awareness, and control lane aggro.

If you wanna improve on your last hits, try this simple training routine - go to the training tutorial and pick AM. Go bottom lane with 1 set of tangos, a stout shield, and 3 branches (don't buy any other items except for consumables for the duration of the game). By the time the timer is up, you should have a creep score of at least 80%. Once you've achieved that, try and better your score. My personal best is 94%.

That's actually how I started as well, but the result is what's commonly known as a "jack of all trades, master of none". I can play all heroes in the pool, but there are very few which I'm compy-standard at. I guess at the end of the day, you just have to recognize the trade-offs of each approach and decide on which one suits your goals better.
