Nothing is better than Google Maps or Nokia Maps to me, so unless the update package is significantly cheaper, I wouldn't do it. I'm willing to pay RM 50, top.

Average speed I'm driving is between 80-100kmh too, 120-140 for occasional fun. Not to say the FC is superbly excellent, but I'm satisfied with the mileage/petrol station ratio laugh.gif

What I don't like about Focus is the interior space. You can't have both front passengers and back passengers comfortable, either one must sacrifice the leg room, unlike Preve or Suprima S smile.gif

Performancebulbs @eBay

Actually you can get cheaper offer, but I trust this seller since I've done a few purchases from them. Item although from UK, actually arrives faster than items from China biggrin.gif

The door handle is meant to be pulled gently. If you put your thumb on the fixed part, you use only the necessary force to pull the latch. That's the idea.

If you just pull the latch (like many of people do, four fingers over the latch and pull), there's a risk you may use too much force and break the handle.

Gee, our Preve is such a girlie gentle car! Ha. Handle with care.

Err no, this method should be practiced on any car. Just like you should only cut a cake when it's less hot.

Wah, ini taukei besar!

Mind sharing your journey with S 5000? Why not S800 or S1000?

Can one see a difference in the car performance with the different S?

For me, since I changed to S1000 after my 1000 km service, I THINK the car is lighter/smoother when I take my foot off the pedal and let it strolls on the road. Maybe it is just my mind playing a trick on me. Ha.

Cheerio.

P/S Since my SC does not allow me to top up for S x000, thinking of using Mach 5 after my 10,000 km service if Mach 5 is good enough. Must be since Proton has stated that for the service.

Immediately after the 1k service, my driving experience significantly changed. The car really feels more powerful, power delivery is very smooth, the power surge is always 'on standby', not to mention the FC becomes less too.

May I know what is the price of Syntium 5000?

if i m no9t mistaken, RM250~

Yes that is the retail price. However if you know someone or a friend working in Petronas, they can get 30% cheaper brows.gif

That's one thing, another thing is to convince your SC to use your own oil laugh.gif

No, your Petronas associate/friend/contact has to purchase for you, they need to give their employee ID when they purchase it from a special Petronas Dagangan store smile.gif

It's just a figure of speech.

1k service means the actual mileage.
5k service means 5k km after the 1k service (hence, actual mileage is 6k).

I don't go down the 1k > 5k > 10k path.

Mine is 1k > 10k (actual: 11k) > 20k (actual: 21k)

I'm still wondering how does the helicopter brake sound like. Is the sound like what we hear when a helicopter flying above us?

Hmm I'm lucky so far my CFE is not being a 'grumpy' car. The only noticeable vibration I found is during accelerating beyond 120, but that is to be expected, in any car laugh.gif

Hi Guys, im back.
And im back again because my Preve problem again. Sigh

Did anyone experience this b4?
When you're driving on a highway, no matter how hard you press the pedal, the RPM stuck at 3000rpm and 60km/h. It lasted me about 5 mins drive then the gearbox warning signal appear.

As usual, i faced this problem before but last time it was when i stop the car, this time is when driving!
Solution : i stopped my car at roadside, off the engine for 10 mins. Then everything back to normal.

anyone know whats the issue? ECU?
*
Sounds very serious. And no I haven't had that experience.

I asked about installing a reverse camera at my SC and the gent told me that I would have to replace the current radio/LCD system. What a waste of money. They should have designed it such that the radio/LCD system allows reverse camera plug in rather than a complete system changeover. The manufacturer's way of maximising revenues, I guess. But a waste of limited resources in my book. If you know of a smart way around this reverse camera, please let me know. Thanks.
*
Err that's to be safe on their side because the head unit on Suprima comes with reverse cam installed. Proton itself do not 'officially condone' us to install reverse cam on our Preve (CFE), except for LE variant. Just go to reputable autoshop like the EA Autoworks and the reverse cam can be installed on the existing head unit through plug and play method.

Like so:

Suprima head unit is diff with preve one. Bigger so must be diff
dActually got reverse camera using rear mirror as display. Around 300. But dunno void warranty or not
*
Yes, they are different, but think of this from manufacturer's perspective:

Preve
Headunit A + no camera (but PnP port available)

Suprima
Headunit B + camera

Proton doesn't actually give warranty for third party installation of reverse camera, but since it's Plug and Play ready, we just have to install the camera without having to temper with the wiring. I asked my SC once, they just shrugged it off when I asked them whether the camera resulted into warranty void or not, claiming 'the HQ doesn't mention anything about it' kind of thing laugh.gif

Geez another case at MD center. And they have the 'Platinum' in their name some more. I think people should avoid the MD SC for the time being.
