hi all, recently my viva aircon air become small already...but it`s still cold..because the air is small so it takes long time to cold the vehicle...i take to aircon man to check...he ask me what age of my car, i said around 7 yrs edy...he said if such an old car the cooling coil probably is time to RIP...he charge me rm850 for change cooling coil + open dashboard cleaning etc...i wonder my aircon ia still cold, is that necessary to change the cooling coil? He said if dunwan change just service also can RM350... wat u guys think?

If you really feel that it is still cold, then just go for normal service ler ...

sounds more like the blower kong. take out wash add oil. else change the blower

aircon cold, but air volume low = cooling coil kong? Need to find another aircon man, sounds like he wants to tiok you kaw kaw.

Anyway, either blower kong or the cabin filter (Does Viva has one?) needs to be replaced.

since still cold, cooling coil is fine. since wind getting weak, possibly blower motor weak, or dirty ducts. need servicing only n clean blower. also check blower motor n fan. no need spend rm850 la!

If normal service cost how much wo?

Most probably is the blower fins dirty only.
Same like home aircond need to clean once a year.
But for cars takes longer to build up dirt

The air conditioning system for Viva is most likely from Sanden. They have a service center at Glenmarie.

I am not sure what normal service meant in your context, but I did a minor service at Sanden recently and it was less than RM 200. They refilled the gas, replace the receiver drier (as the old one was dirty), refill the compressor oil, clean the cabin air filter and replace one of the joint which was loose.

You should get a second opinion before repairing it.
