September Tip of the month:
This month I will bring you guys into Mysterious Island. The Island call Okunoshima.
Anyone here heard before?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%8Ckunoshima

What so famous on this Island?   Lets us see this Video. You will understand everything

Other interesting Part of this Island?  That will be the History......Please see the Wikipedia.
Now, Tips of the Month.  How to go there?
This Island was near to Hiroshima City.  I suggest you stay one night at Hiroshima City first. Next early morning then go this Island.
First at Hiroshima Station take Shinkansen to Mihara Station (三原駅). Please take Note. Nozomi Shinkansen does not stop at Mihara Station. Once you reach Mihara Station, change to JR Kure Line to Tadanoumi Station (忠海駅).  Walk to Ferry terminal.  15 Minute Boat Ride (Adult 300Yen & Children 150Yen Per Way) to reach Destination.  Rabbit Food are sold for 100yen only

So far my journey was seamless, thanks a lot of Japanese who helped me a lot. Train officer, shopkeeper, pedestrians and etc. they willing to help u even they dun speak English.
By the way can I ask anyone here who knows Japanese, is this the ghibli museum ticket dated 19 nov 4 pm? I asked the shopkeeper Lawson to help me since it's all n Japanese. Can double confirm? ThanksAttached Image

November Tips of the Month
Originally it should be Hiroshima Miyajima oyster. Because November to March are Japan oyster season and Hiroshima Oyster are the best. But recently alot forumer here are going Kyoto. Arashiyama are one of top choice.
The food that really capture me at Arashiyama are 嵐山いこい
Location please refer to map. Just beside the Hotel 旅亭 嵐月
During lunch time you can buy thier Bento set Or have a Oden (関東煮) set. Oden are this shop primary selling point.  Best part of this restaurant are the river view.

Tips of the Months!!
December.  2014 last Tips of the Months.

As I  try promoting more info about Shikoku here.  Most Malaysian goes Japan only choose Kansai / Tokyo / Hokkaido. Very less going Okinawa , Kyushu , Shikoku.

For info about how to go Shikoku please refer to page 1 Shikoku section. Now this tips of the month will be another way to Shikoku. Slower but more enjoying.

This is a night train called Sunrise Seto which travels from Tokyo Station to Takamatsu, It leaves Tokyo at 10pm exactly. In Japan, trains always leave on time. Our trains departure is shown below:

Here is the sign above the platform for the Sunrise Seto, showing that this position is the entry location for Carriage No. 4:

The Sunrise Seto train then arrived into Tokyo Station (bit blurry sorry):

On the side of the train is the name of the train and the Destination Takamatsu, helpfully written in Japanese and English:

So... I just finished my "Speedrun" of Japan: All major cities in the major regions covered in 10 days. Initial thoughts:

1. If you plan to do it this way, the 7-day Japan Rail Pass is absolutely necessary, and pays back for itself multiple times. The other passes not so much: I found getting myself a normal IC card (Icoca this time around coz I already have Suica) for normal intra-city travel is much more convenient and you don't really lose much vs city travel passes.

2. The rail timings will be tight. Like *real* tight, especially from Nagoya --> Sendai --> Sapporo, primarily because Hakkaido does not have a Sinkan system *yet* and relies on slower express trains. You also have to wake up in the wee hours of the morning more than a few times.

3. 10 days is enough (barely) if you know what to cover (this is already my 3rd time going to Japan, mostly Tokyo, so less to cover). For first timers however, 14 days is reccomended so that you can cover more stuff around Tokyo on the second week. You'll move around *a lot* though (maybe even up to the last city train) expect to rest only while travelling between cities, and when you're sleeping.

4. Japanese language skills, while *not* absolutely necessary, can be *very* helpful, especially when going to the less touristy parts of Japan. It also helps open doors to very interesting conversations.

5. The GAC LTE MIFI is totally worth it. It's fast and lasts for at least 3/4 of a full day. Coverage wise, the only trouble I've had was in tunnels (duh... but the Sanyo Shinkansen has a *lot* of tunnels... really) and in the more *ulu* parts of Hokkaido. Otherwise it works pretty perfect.

For a detailed breakdown, maybe later. For now, all I could say that it was a hectic 10 days, but great fun nonetheless.
*
So which one is your favorite place then? I spent 3 weeks in in japan covering Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Tokyo. I would say Tokyo is my least favorite place maybe it's a city taking subways all the time made me sick cos it's no difference with KL blink.gif
I prefer countryside type of place so far I like Kyoto the most...very clean and ride bike everywhere I like. If u ask me to go japan again I will definitely put kyoto in my list.
Next May wanna go there again perhaps least touristy place, more outskirt so need your recommendations. Thanks smile.gif
