Hi, about the b-mobile visitor sim. If I select for delivery to hotel, is it means that they will deliver to the receptionist and I will have to collect it? Or they will deliver it to me? Can I select a delivery time before I check-in(on the same day)?
*
To the Hotel Receptionist.
Btw, you can buy this at any Major Airport. Unless you landed at Tokyo Haneda Airport which midnight then the shop was closed.

Other Airport then just buy at spot. no need buy online and delivery to hotel

So... I just finished my "Speedrun" of Japan: All major cities in the major regions covered in 10 days. Initial thoughts:

1. If you plan to do it this way, the 7-day Japan Rail Pass is absolutely necessary, and pays back for itself multiple times. The other passes not so much: I found getting myself a normal IC card (Icoca this time around coz I already have Suica) for normal intra-city travel is much more convenient and you don't really lose much vs city travel passes.

2. The rail timings will be tight. Like *real* tight, especially from Nagoya --> Sendai --> Sapporo, primarily because Hakkaido does not have a Sinkan system *yet* and relies on slower express trains. You also have to wake up in the wee hours of the morning more than a few times.

3. 10 days is enough (barely) if you know what to cover (this is already my 3rd time going to Japan, mostly Tokyo, so less to cover). For first timers however, 14 days is reccomended so that you can cover more stuff around Tokyo on the second week. You'll move around *a lot* though, expect to rest only while travelling between cities.

For a detailed breakdown, maybe later. For now, all I could say that it was a hectic 10 days, but great fun nonetheless.
*
No way you can get from Nagoya to Sapporo on day 5. i try before. No way . Only reach Aomori
Day 5 you need change train at Tokyo. That waste time & reach Aomori already night. Day 5 you going Sendai also?

Then 100% cannot

Day 2 basically was wtf. Unless it was a train ride fun thing. If plus visiting the city. it will be not enough time to discover the city.

I did. From Nagoya wake up straight ride shinkansen. Arrive Sendai around 11am, take the Loople around Sendai. Around 2pm (ish) ride shinkansen again to Aomori. Arrive Sapporo around 10pm?

I have the tickets for it. But it IS tight like heck, prolly the tightest part of the trip.

you just miss alot thing in sendai. This kind of trip more was like Train fun trip. Check in check out.
For train lovers might ok. For Real travellers this was wasting money

But for *real* travelling, yeah, 20 days would have been better for this. Though costs wise it might be more of a problem: it would need twice the budget, for one thing.

How many hours do I have to be at the nagoya airport before departure? My flight is at 9:35 am, I'm afraid that I have not enough time to travel from Sakae station to Nagoya station(by subway where the earliest is 5:37 am) and Nagoya station to airport(by meitetsu rapid). Is there any late night taxi available?
*

All link you get are useless. Because it was past. No one know on 2015.

2012 was 1 May until 9 May
2013 was 9 May until 15 May. Delay Due to cold weather
2014 was 29 April until 9 May

You wany to know then stay tune here. Early of April 2015 only can know the result.
Global warming......everything changing.

booking room in airnb and need to make sure it is near lrt is a headache....i dunno which lane is connect to Higashiōte Station....

Japan not using LRT.
MRT are city subway which only in City.
don,t make self like a kampung PPL when you at Japan. Do more homework.
The train to Airport and out of City are real locomotive train like our KTM commuter standard.

There was 4 Station at this area.
Meitetsu Nagoya Station
JR Nagoya Station
Kintetsu Nagoya Station
Nagoya City Subway Station.

- Nagoya City Subway as usual. City subway.
- Meitetsu line was Nagoya Area commuter Line. such as going Inuyama , Gifu.
- Kintetsu was mainly focus on Kansai + Tobu area. From Nagoya to Kansai can focus on Kintetsu Line.
- JR was mainly outside of Nagoya City. To Tokyo , To Kansai , To Takayama & Toyama

Shower was not a primary thing for Japanese. Japanese avg 1 week bath 1 to 3 times only. When you at Japan you can follow them. Bath 3 times a week only. That like when you go their Country also follow their culture

Nop. Because Japanee don't like bath. When they want to bath they prefer onsen. If onsen means you have to pay.

how much did you pay for your return tickets?

a friend of mine managed to get RM1k for a return ticket for mas

:/ sounds to good to be true

I usually go Japan was free because working.
If On leave going personal then Rm900 for AirAsia X during super sales.
Or usually I take Eva Air. Around RM2500 ++

RM1k plus for MAS was great deal

Japan is very seductive and addictive. Belum pergi belum tahu, sudah pergi lagi mahu.

Initially, after booking our flight tickets and hotel through Expedia, I was very apprehensive about the trip, especially because of the different train operators and lines which are very confusing. I had thought of seeking advice through this thread, but was wary of RegentCid’s admonishments - “Do your Homework! No spoon-feeding!”. So, I read through ALL the 5 versions of the Japan threads (starting from this one, V5, and working backwards). Then, I checked out all the places in our itinerary through Hyperdia, printed out the schedules/stations which are relevant as well as print out the Google maps for the routes where we need to walk. So, RegentCid, I did my homework and I’m really grateful to you for being such a strict sensei because it really helped to make our trip easier.

Hi all,

I'm planning for backpack to Japan next year in early Feb. Tokyo-Osaka. worth it or not for me to take the JR pass ? Im not sure what will cover if we take JR pass. hmmm confused
*
Tokyo to Osaka one way or returns 2 way?
If one way only then no need.
2 way then buy the pass. Save money plus at Tokyo used on Yamanote Line and Chuo Line
