DOn't used CC. Unless no choice. Bank CC exchange rate always fxxx up one.  Like currently I just order a album from Japan using CC.  exchange rate now just 1000Yen = RM30  but Bank CC exchange rate was 1000 Yen = RM34

Just came back from my 7 day solo Tokyo trip and had a great time. This is just my second solo trip after Singapore. I visited as many places as I can around the city such as Tsukiji Fish Market, Hama-rikyu garden, Shinjuku red light district, Sky tree, Tokyo Tower, Kit Kat store, Yoyogi park, to name a few. Once I reached a particular station I just go around the entire place to look for the place I want to visit without asking for directions and it was pretty fun.
The best part is being on my own and able to do whatever I wanted to do. I even rented my own place in Shinjuku and had the whole 3-bed house with everything to myself. It was also just a few minutes walk to the nearest station passing by lots of stores so you can buy anything.
For a first timer, most of the things went pretty smoothly. Definitely should go for more of these kinda trips.

search around tripadvisors,agoda,jalan net, japanican still can't decide which ryokan as so many reviews. thought of staying around Hakone-Yumoto station for easier traveling to attractions. planning to try out ryokan at either Hakone or Mt Fuji area (haven't decided yet). i read that Hakone Ginyu have good reviews but price is steep and decor similar as balinese feel. anyone know any good ryokan to recommend? that have outdoor onsen inside room and public outdoor onsen
