Hi guys, appreciate your recommendations.

I will be arriving in Tokyo via Shinkansen at Tokyo Station. Can anyone recommend an easily accessible 4-5 star hotel along the JR line? Maximum budget is RM 600 per night.

I would prefer to use as little metro as possible since I'm traveling in a group and with baggage.

You can consider hotels near JR Shinjuku. Mine is Nishi-Shinjuku Hotel Mystays http://www.mystays.com/e/location/nishishinjuku/

I'm traveling with my family. So, budget's not a problem. But still, RM600 it the maximum lah. If you can recommend cheaper around 450-500 than that would be better.

Previously I was looking at Marunaouchi Metropolitan Hotel, but somehow my travel agent could not get the booking confirmation. So, I'm currently looking for alternatives.

Well not necessary. Really depends on which company you work. Been here for two years and do really like it here. Met tons of Malaysian here as well who have been here for much much longer and not many of them have plan to go back home to work....retirement yes.

I used Citadines Shinjuku for 6 nights earlier this month. There were 3 of us, including a 10 yr old kid and lots of bags. Price was about rm 600/ night for studio executive twin room, including sofabed. Room size was 28m2. I took a taxi from Shinjuku station to hotel after using the NEX.

Do you think it's really necessary to have a pocket wifi? in terms of just using it to find our way in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka?

The first time I went to Tokyo 2 years ago I went without wifi too.

Last year went with family, my dad brought one.

This year April I go with friends, I rented one because they wanted to use lol.

So, technically, I'd say good to have, but I rarely use it to navigate around, more like surfing on the go always. Back to hotel then use the LAN cable since I brought laptop.
