Thanks Human Nature and electron for the advice.

Thanks RegentCid for the sukiya tips. Really really informational. Definitely will be in my list of place to go for lunch

Is the soba/don tachigui style outlets very common and cheap? I'm thinking of spending less money on lunch then splurge on unagi, fugu and seafood during dinner.

maybe you should do the other way round as lunch menu tends to be lower than dinner menu

There is one in Taipan also.

The other suki-ya is steamboat buffet, got branch in pavillion, paradigm mall and recently saw it open up in klang parade.

Other than Sukiya in Japan, I frequent Yoshinoya too. laugh.gif
When I was flying Cebu Pacific recently, they were serving Yoshinoya rice bowl also.

Info from www.myjapantips.com

A note to foreign travelers to Japan that JR East’s “Suica & N’EX” package that had been sold for the last few years will be discontinued on April 1st, with the final sales taking place on March 31st. The “Suica and N’EX” package allowed tourists to travel on the Narita Express from Narita Airport to Tokyo and receive a SUICA card for travel around the Tokyo area at a reduced fare. One-way and round trip packages, as well as standard and green (first) class accommodations were all available. However, JR East has decided to retire this option. My guess is either due to low use or because of the pending increase in the consumption (aka sales) tax in Japan.

In any case, JR East is now pushing it’s one-way “N’EX Tokyo Direct Ticket” which is a flat 1,500 yen fare in standard class from Narita Airport to stations in Tokyo. The new package does not include a Suica card, does not include a round-trip (the return fare has to be paid in full), and does not include Green Car accommodation (which also has to be paid in full).

More details on the JR East Web Site: http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/pass/nex_oneway.html

I'm currently planning for a trip to Japan on 2016 (I know it's early, but the earlier I plan, the easier the planning in later stages will be), but I'm can only select one from these events:

- JAEPO (Arcade Game Expo)
- Anime Japan
- Music Media-Mix Market aka M3 (It's like Comiket, but one day and limited to music)
- COMITIA (It's like Comiket, but only original works)

Which one would you recommend to me? Also, M3 and COMITIA requires entrants to have an event catalog. It is possible to purchase it near the event place early in the morning, but I prefer to buy it earlier. So, what kind of places are likely to stock them? Is it possible to buy them in shops in international airports (Haneda or Narita)? Any feedback is appreciated! icon_question.gif

Sukiya in Japan is like super budget restaurant sometimes with no chairs. Over here it's like mid-upper range restaurant laugh.gif
