I don't think this is a regular lag spike however, because while using the console commands (e.g net_graph in Valve games) of various games or even just the default scoreboard yields no indication that my ping has risen beyond the norm (i.e going to 999 to show disconnection). I'm not sure if this is an indication of a normal lag spike problem or this is something caused by packet loss, of which I have checked for through speed test sites showing no problem. The problem may actually be that I am in fact not lag spiking but rather not receiving a response from the server at all. I've considered that the problem may be due to malware or something similar, of which I have performed a scan through Malwarebytes and removed everything harmful including a large quantity of adware from my sister's user but I'm still facing this problem. I have also tried disabling IPV6 services, which I read somewhere that this may have been the cause. Pinging my modem through the command prompt shows no abnormality (although it initially did go from 2ms to 50+ms occassionally, that problem has been fixed since when I changed my router to broadcast only 802.11b/g signals). The problem was due to a function from the router called Anti-Attack (under Advanced options tab) which appear to block several IP and port protocols. Disabling this seems to clear the problem as I have yet to see negative effects of disabling this system. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit* Found the solution! QUOTE(Ken112334 @ Jul 13 2014, 12:57 AM) i also got this problem, but then i got a question, i tot unify are using fiber optic but why mine still phone cable!? Hahah.. TM Unifi does used Fiber Optic. But, the internal home connection is using LAN cable as a medium. The fiber is terminated at the ONU unit. That is the standard used around the world.

QUOTE(Syehino @ Aug 12 2014, 07:14 PM) You should delete the info about port forwarding in your main post too..it's totally irrelevent to your problem and would only cause confusion to people that found your topic And it would be nice if you could copy the working solution you found to here to save people from jumping through hoops

This settings also block UDP-based OpenVPN connections. Just disable it to use OpenVPN.
