Redmi Note is using the Mediatek's so called true octa core cpu, saw the review that it performed great and battery can last longer due to the smaller screen resolution of 720p and large battery capacity with price tag of RM500+, not bad.

Thanks, I was referring to Redmi Note which uses the Mediatek chip. I'm considering the Redmi Note which is only at RM500+ rather than the Mi 3 since I mostly care about the battery capacity. But since i had bad memories using Mediatek phone, I'm a bit skeptical. A Mi 3 price tag is fine, but phablet size is really tempting.
