This raw mode is it software or hardware oriented....if software, maybe later rom version update, will fix it... tongue.gif
*
It's software. But if it's something needed to be done on in the kernel level then even developer can't do anything about it.

does Mi store have all the app from google play?
*
Not most, but popular apps is there. All of it is free and in Chinese language. You can install google Playstore on your phone if you don't wish to use the MiStore.

QUOTE(suntzulee @ Jul 5 2014, 09:27 PM)
Actually there is a workaround solution for this... In security app, you have to set permission to auto start. The few apps are framework, contact, manager....can't remember...need to check back my mi3. After this, reboot. Then it will lock gps effortlessly.... tongue.gif
*
Mind if you list down the apps to allow in permission for our reference? Thanks. biggrin.gif

There's few additional feature in the latest stable rom, but overall you'll able to notice much smoother UI on Kitkat.

Ok. Will check it out . 25 hrs on idle mode and 40 min of screen time the battery dropped 17%. i assume it's doing good right?
*
Yeah, that's good. Assuming the phone normal on screen time is 4 hours max, every 1 hours of on screen time will approximately drop 25% of battery.

Everytime as in you faced this problem multiple times already? Did you install CWM recovery or other sorts of recovery that overrides the default recovery?

For now, what you can do is download the rom manually from the web and flash the full rom using recovery.

What's the difference between Version: KXDCNBE18.0 (V5) & Version: JXDMYBD14.0 (V5)
*
Since you already know one is China rom, another is Malaysia rom, the difference between the both simply put

China rom = the most original MIUI, contains features and apps specifically for China users, etc. Directory

MY rom = rip off from China rom and add in Google apps, you won't able to see MiMarket here.

Don't worry about the languages provided, English is always available in all MIUI roms.

Try Number Fixer. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...mberfixer&hl=en

QUOTE(DarkSilver @ Jul 6 2014, 10:56 PM)
Guys, I get quite low in Antutu Benchmark(lower than original) when I am using Latest Dev ROM...
Is there's something I can do to fix this? Or I should just ignore this?

Thanks!
*
Yes, it's normal. The Kitkat rom for unknown reason under-performed in Antutu Benchmark compared to the stable 4.3 rom.

how to flash china version to local? (bought from taobao, can't download google map)
*
Download the ROM here,

http://en.miui.com/download-101.html#309

Make sure that you phone is the WCDMA variant (Snapdragon chipset) before flashing the Malaysia ROM.

Once you downloaded, copy the ROM file to your Mi3 storage in file named "downloaded_rom". Go to updater app, menu, and Select Update Package.

i know HDR would be a lot better biggrin.gif
but just want to show in normal / auto mode, it doesn't seem too bad actually biggrin.gif
yup yup, i agree on HDR mode, is way better than that!! but i got a shaky hand, while the HDR processing, if shaked too much, the quality out also sleep.gif
rclxub.gif
*
Don't think HDR works great in low light. HDR combines 3 different image of different exposures to enhance the details of the image, which works great if you're taking landscape images with sufficient light. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not a photographer.

how do you do backup with just the phone settings? so that when I reflash the OS with something else, I can restore the apps + settings?

oh, and count me in, proud owner of Mi3 biggrin.gif suntzulee
*
I just use the backup app from MIUI itself. Works fine, no more or less features there. You can backup the whole thing and choose what to restore later on.

AFAIK, that's one thing and the GPL thinggy, seems some people doesn't share the full GPL thinggy  laugh.gif Thus support from XDA will be unlikely.

Yeah, this GPL thing is all about it. Too bad though, but I just hope they'll release the kernel code once their latest flagship released. Hope there's other roms too.

Longer unofficial rom support if they release it nod.gif

Hint: some "old phone" might get Android L while some "newer phone" still stuck with the older version >_<

My p780 is an example
*
True, however still unsure if other rom developer will develop for Xiaomi phones. Even now, what are the options available for older Xiaomi phones? I only saw WIUI before, optimized rom for Mi2 and Mi2s. (Btw, Mi3 does have WIUI rom too, still in beta)

QUOTE(x.z @ Jul 9 2014, 09:53 AM)
Hi, anyone here facing non-sensitive front capacitive buttons?
*
QUOTE(x.z @ Jul 9 2014, 10:53 AM)
starting all was good.
after awhile the capacitive keys become not sensitive.
have to lock the screen, and unlock again, then only it will return to its normal condition.
abit retarded imo
*
Since the capacitive button works after you unlock the screen, must be software issue. I faced this issue before, restart the phone and no problem after that (on developer rom). If it occur, just restart your phone.

QUOTE(suntzulee @ Jul 9 2014, 02:43 PM)
actually mi3 no need to greenify as the battery can last you a whole day of good usage...the only greenify should work is on redmi 1s...however, pls be cautious when you installed the xposed framework as i already brick it twice for attempting it...

till today no solution on how to get it run in 1s....can mi3 installed xposed framework?
*
It's something we called optimization. We try do get the best out of something.

QUOTE(superyaw @ Jul 9 2014, 06:27 PM)
Hi. How's mi3 speaker? It is located at the bottom of the handset. Is the speaker loud enough? How's the quality while playing music?
*
Not loud enough IMO, but don't worry about not able to hear your ringtone or notification sound. It's audible enough.
