Martingale based strategy has been exist for long time in FX trading arena, especially retail trading like us. If you simply check those monthly contest, myfxbook top performer, zulu and so on, you can see a lot of signal provider having a very very smooth equity for 3 years and above (which made me envy and jealous). Debate is on going, expert A said it works, expert B said it doesn't work due to market is random and bla bla bla .... I personally does not use martingale system and I will never use it because I am a true believer market is random. How about you guys here, please discuss

QUOTE(mchicken @ Jul 8 2014, 07:46 AM) Martigale works for me, been with the system for more than a year and still profiting. IMHO, just take good care of the MM and lot management, don't be greedy try to strike big, then it gonna last long with consistent profit. Great!! May I know how many losing streak your martingale system can sustain?PS: Must be modified Martingale like Mix Martial Art (MMA). |

QUOTE(mchicken @ Jul 8 2014, 04:08 PM) Well, yea. I try to control it under 20. But so far encountered probably 12-14. I can't really remember, coz it seldom happen. Because it seldom happen?? hahaha good answer!!Mind to tell me when you hit 12-14 losing streak, what is your drawdown like? I am just curious only, because martingale system beat even the best trader in the world in monthly contest, and of course the capital is smaller from what I observed. Please post a link here if anyone in zulu is trading million dollar account with a very smooth equity curve ya, I wanted to have a study on them, just out of curiosity |

QUOTE(mchicken @ Jul 8 2014, 09:07 PM) Well, you can laugh all the way just like any other when they saw me using this system/strategies, saying it gonna blown in 3 months time. But I made it thru 1 year+. Now that guy dare not to say a word.. I didn't laugh at your martingale system, you are too sensitive. What you see from the monthly contest, the trader probably uses high risk high return martingale with bigger lotsize, if trend goes his way, he will make it, pure luck. All/Most of the contest use only demo account, so got nothing to lose. Probably that month only the trader reach 4-5 level which the capital can sustain the DD. For example, there is one month last year which I made 3k+ pips. If I use full lot, the return gonna be I laugh at your answer, which is really not pro la. By the way, 1 year plus is short period, give it 5 years. |

QUOTE(evedlab @ Jul 10 2014, 02:37 PM) Seriously, how to make money in forex ? I see many people in the forex for few months and years then suddenly quit because of huge loses. I've been trading 2 years but I still cannot get a good strategy. Started of with martinegale which will give false hope because you will never loose (most of the time). I was lucky to exit from this strategy after I survived with 70% drawdown, and finally i realised martinegale accually gives false hope. Since then I'm looking for a good strategy but still cannot find one. Thanks for sharing your experience evedlab.Sure there must be a way to make money in forex, just need to seek best strategies that suits your style. Anyone got good strategies to share? Wait, is there any full time trader trading profitably more than 3 years ? I am not trading fulltime because I only spend 10 mins on my trading everyday. Number of years? 6 years already ........ and yea positive every year. No I don't share my strategy, sorry |

QUOTE(Moonflown @ Jul 10 2014, 03:51 PM) Have anyone heard of TeleTrade? That's why i never tell people I trade forex (by myself). The term "forex" is smelly enough now. Forex=scam is public's perception nowadays. Sigh ........They have been pretty active recently giving trainings and recruiting retail traders. However all these trainings require you to deposit some money into the broker and you have to train a certain lot to get it back. I'm sure MLM forex is pretty hot recently but my encounter with this broker doesn't seems like its a MLM. Do share if you heard anything about it If you want to make quick bucks, join them, find your down line, if you are among the top recruiters, you can become millionaire very fast, no need trade at all. Just hope that you are not at the bottom before the scheme break .... Good luck! |

QUOTE(tdoptions1689 @ Jul 18 2014, 12:24 PM) I still seen somebody are looking for awesome poster. I don't post doesn't means I am already out of the games. Sometime, when I was in down period, I would prefer to clear my mindset and look for the solutions, find implementation on the strategy and regroup on it. If you can't accept losses, you CAN'T be a TRADER. Make sense, mchicken? Awesome!! |

QUOTE(9kingsir @ Aug 18 2014, 07:45 PM) People like fundamental because it sounds more professional. Hedge fund that claim to use fundamental analysis, is actually pooling a lot of "big data" based on fundamental, assign a value for each data collected , quantifying it, and the end result is BUY or SELL, TAKE PROFIT, STOP LOSS.By just reading fundamental, you will never know when to buy/sell, TP and SL. |
