QUOTE(9kingsir @ Jan 7 2015, 05:11 PM) higher leverage mean u can play higher rate even ur account doesnt have that kind of money... account A have USD 1000 1:500 account B have USD1000 1: 50 account A can play rate @ 2.00 on 1 pair account B cant play rate 2.00 on 1 pair hence profit is different even pips gains are same You mean to say for the same amount of pips gained the profit in $ is different for 2 different account with different leverage? Are you sure about this?

QUOTE(Supreme1394 @ Jan 8 2015, 02:26 PM) I believe he's saying that with a lower leverage, you can't open a bigger lot size comparatively. Hence lower lot sizes bring you in less profit for the same amount of pips gained for any trade. Eg. Say a trade gains 10 pips, if you had opened a 1 lot size, you'll get $100. But if you could only open 0.1 lot size, you'll get only $10. Yes, that's what I thought too. The question by kimwee85 was referring to "same" lot size, that's why the answer was confusing. I would say your reply earlier was very clear to the point ;-). Anyway many thanks for all the comments & answers. QUOTE(kimwee85 @ Jan 7 2015, 03:45 PM) The question is : If i trade using same lot, will my Profit/Loss is the same if i using the same size for this 2 accounts?

Need clarification on method of computation of ROI (Return-on-Investment).
Eg. If my deposit/capital is $10,000 and I SELL EUR/USD 1-minilot, thus the required margin is $100. So if upon closing that trade with profit $20 (i.e. 20-pips), what would be my ROI?
Is it based on deposit/capital ($20 divide $10,000 = 0.2% ROI) or based on "Required Margin" ($20 divide $100 = 20% ROI) for calculation?
Many times I have been asked what's my ROI & I really do not know which figure to quote.

QUOTE(fix24311 @ Jan 27 2015, 08:54 AM) without local IB, the central bank won't be suspicious? i've heard cases where people assets' were frozen after the central bank knows they're into forex. for civilian in malaysia forex isn't exactly legal according to the central bank Whenever filling-up forms for wire-transfer (TT), just write "Equity Investment" instead of "Forex Trading" in the specified column.

QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Jan 27 2015, 04:55 PM) When I said spread, I mean they their exchange rate (aka spread) his higher than the banks. For example if the bank rate now is 3.7, they might charge 3.8 per USD, that's RM0.10 more per USD. If you transfer USD1000, that's RM100 difference and more than the bank would charge you for wire transfer. You get what I mean now? Exchange Rate = Spread ??

QUOTE(poooky @ Feb 3 2015, 03:51 PM) just curious guys, is forex totally illegal in msia? as in individuals cannot engage in any activities related to forex whatsoever? or are the laws only against companies that are unauthorized? ie. if a person trades through brokers based in sg or us or where ever is it completely off limits for msians? I really dunno. Last week I was at OCBC & enquired regarding opening a US$ Foreign Currency Account. The officer asked me the purpose & initially I told her for Equity Investment. Later I asked her whether if it is for Forex trading is it ok. Her reply was it is NOT ILLEGAL to trade forex
